Javier, our new CEO, wanted to thank everyone for a fun and motivating first week. You all have made his transition process enjoyable. He has much to do but insisted on relaying that his initial numbers indicate that the dogs are all very good and will likely continue to be ❤️

My dad, who was a helicopter gunship pilot in Vietnam, took me to see Platoon, and the part where Elias is killed and the helicopter pilot says it's too hot to land, my dad stands up, yells "You fucking cowards!" And we promptly leave.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

This is a great thread, and the sheer destruction of the Confederate officer corps is mind-boggling.
#OTD in 1864—“the blackest page in the history of the war.” Dwarfing Picketts’s Charge, the Confederate attack at Franklin, TN saw 20k infantry assault across two miles of open ground against a three-tier defensive system of breastworks, resulting in the deaths of over 2,000 men in both armies.

I think my updates are done for tonight from the UPS cargo plane crash in Louisville that has killed at least 3 and likely more. Here's our current story, which is likely to change by the morning once more official information comes out.
Multiple dead and injured in UPS plane crash near Louisville airport
Beshear says the UPS plane was bound for Hawaii and contained 220,000 pounds of jet fuel. A shelter in place remains in effect for parts of Louisville.

I think everybody has a “Wallace Shawn from Young Sheldon” — my first one would probably be “Vincent Price, the guy who did the voice of Ratigan in The Great Mouse Detective”
