I'm surprised you were still there through all of the last year, thank you for at least taking this step in the right direction now.

I know it is a good first start, but the "for the time being" part doesn't sit well with me. Grateful for this progress though and hopefully inspires other MPs to do the same.

It was created years back and is built into the new OCP. We have done loads of recent infrastructure upgrades, built a brand new fire hall there and a new subdivision is in the works.

It is a private business and private property, the site usage is at their discretion. North Cowichan has been planning for this with the newly released Ec Dev action plan, OCP and also things like the Crofton Local Area Plan. Outside of that we have little control of private business.

Everything is on the table at this point in the intergovernmental working group discussions is my understanding. First & foremost though is working with province/feds to get immediate supports for affected works. Second to that is the massive impact to our 2026 taxes & beyond, on this weeks agenda
