I have never used it because I thrive in chaos! Whenever I organise something, I immediately forget I have done it and usually start over looking for stuff. The amazing thing is that I keep looking for the same stuff and I’m often redirected to an open tab 🫠

I also have a printed copy with a ton of post-its on it but I’ve not reached the point where I carry it everywhere ahaha (and I don’t want to reach that point)

It’s permanently open in my browser but I keep losing it given the number of tabs currently open… I might have to do the same ahaha

In my review, I focus on how tech companies fit within the horizontal conflicts Bradford describes in her book.I argue that the shifts in companies’ alliances w/digital empires show how companies leverage horizontal battles b/w regulatory models to benefit their vertical battles vs. digital empires

the same administration that is strenuously presenting itself as the protector of free speech is also putting in place tactics that directly violate the First Amendment precisely to suppress political opposition. 4/
stefaniasds.bsky.social
I also illustrated how this suspension is a perfect example of jawboning and a violation of the First Amendment. Ultimately, the suspension is yet another demonstration of the weaponisation of the concept of free speech: 3/

In my intervention, I discussed the wider strategies currently employed in the US to stifle political opposition, underscoring how the recent suspension of Jimmy Kimmel is just the latest escalation of silencing efforts that had already started at the beginning of this second Trump administration 2/

This morning I made my first TV appearance and exercised my right to publicly criticise the most prominent politicians and leaders.

The topic: a discussion on how this very same right is currently being suppressed in the US. 1/

Still waiting for the day this guy says something remotely intelligent…

“Every age has its own Fascism, and we see the warning signs wherever the concentration of power denies citizens the possibility and the means of expressing and acting on their own will. There are many ways of reaching this point…”
Primo Levi, writing in 1974
institutions and hospitals where all too frequently, as in Auschwitz, man loses his name and his face, his dignity and hope.
The very brutality of our experience in the camps turned us into accusers rather than judges, but it both disgusts us and gives us much to think about when we see the seeds of Fascism taking hold in those same countries (not their peoples) who are owed the world's gratitude for the defeat of Nazifascism. In the Soviet Union, there are still work camps from which people emerge humiliated and broken. Indiscriminate bombing has returned in Vietnam. Torture is practised in all the countries of South America where useful governments are propped up by the United States.
Every age has its own Fascism, and we see the warning signs wherever the concentration of power denies citizens the possibility and the means of expressing and acting on their own will. There are many ways of reaching this point,

The letter in question, in particular, requested (1) a change in our workshop title, (2) the cancellation of the keynote by Francesca Albanese, and (3) the careful examination of the remaining papers for antisemitic claims (i.e. prior censorship)

In this thread by @ralfmichaels.bsky.social, a summary of (some) of the silencing attempts we have faced while organising our IG workshop and his excellent defence of our event, for which I’m extremely grateful.
stefaniasds.bsky.social
Dear Ralf, I only come across this now. Thank you so much for your words, and for explaining so eloquently the aims and objectives of our event. Indeed, the censorship attempts are absolutely shameful and an assault on the idea of the university as a space for critical inquiry and dialogue.

As we all go back to our everyday lives, I hope we will continue to work together and mobilise to defend academic freedom in regard to Palestine. 5/.
