Israel's military offensive in Gaza is illegal.

Not only because it uses illegal means that violate international humanitarian law.

But also because it seeks illegal ends that violate the international law governing the use of force.

It must stop.

I will not back down.

Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected representatives checking his power.

What else is left on the path to full-blown authoritarianism?

Spoke with @charliesavage.bsky.social about how the administration is trying to backfill a legal rationale for US strikes in the Caribbean.

Seems by "determining" there is an armed conflict—without any basis in fact or law—POTUS is giving himself a license to kill.

Pleased to speak with @cbsnews.com about the administration's absurd legal rationale for killing people in the Caribbean.

"This justification put out here that the U.S. is somehow in an armed conflict does not do the trick because it's not supported by the facts."

66 000 people have been killed & almost 170 000 have been injured in #Gaza.

@who.int estimates that at least 1/4 of those have life-changing injuries that require immediate & ongoing rehabilitation.

I call on all parties to this conflict to choose peace, now.

This case -– perhaps the most important ever to fall within the jurisdiction of this district court –- squarely presents the issue whether non-citizens lawfully present here in United States actually have the same free speech rights as the rest of us. The Court answers this Constitutional question unequivocally “yes, they do.” “No law” means “no law.” The First Amendment does not draw President Trump’s invidious distinction and it is not to be found in our history or jurisprudence. See Section III.A infra. No one’s freedom of speech is unlimited, of course, but these limits are the same for both citizens and non-citizens alike.

Netanyahu says he did not agree to Palestinian state as part of Trump Gaza plan, and IDF will remain ‘in most of the territory’ – Middle East crisis live
Israeli PM discussed his meeting with Donald Trump in a Telegram post, while a senior Hamas official has said the group is studying the proposals * What’s in Trump’s 20-point peace plan for Gaza? In a video statement published on his Telegram channel discussing his visit to the US, Benjamin Netanyahu said the IDF “will remain in most of the territory” as part of the plan drawn up with Trump, and that Israel did “absolutely not” agree to a Palestinian state. Netanyahu said: It was a historic visit. Instead of Hamas leading to our isolation, we turned the tables and isolated Hamas. Now the entire world, including the Arab and Muslim world, is pressuring Hamas to accept the conditions we set together with President Trump: to release all our abducted – both living and dead – while the IDF remains in most of the territory. Absolutely not, and it is not written in the agreement either. But one thing we did say: we are firmly opposed to a Palestinian state. President Trump also said this; he said he understands our position. He also declared at the UN that such a move would be a huge reward for terror and a danger to the state of Israel. And of course, we will not agree to it. “We can’t keep silent, nor look the other way, when confronted with so much devastation, with the bombing – even of hospitals, schools and places of refuge – or with so many deaths among the civilian population, or with the famine and the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of people – to what end?” Continue reading...
