WCAG-EM 2.0, a process to evaluate accessibility, is coming! We (me, @stevefaulkner.bsky.social and Jeroen) are updating it to:

- make the scope broader (from “websites” to any digital product)
- make it more readable
- bring it up to date (mentions design systems now)

Nope. Merz can't decide any of that, can't order a boycott or cut funding.

These decisions are made by a committee of German public broadcasters, which are funded by compulsory fees paid directly to them by citizens.
The chancellor has no official influence over public media for historical reasons.

from watching friends and family: just the lingo used in onboarding is confusing + too much text, even in German. It's not a localization issue.

The ones who finish sign up give up the moment they have to chose a server. Unintuitive, restrictive, full of implied penalties for doing anything wrong.

I guess that's a personal taste thing. For me 2025 is the first year since PS5 release in which I bought so many games first week of release that I can't finish them all this year and have even more on my wishlist.

Just what I bought this year will keep me busy till GTA6.

Compensated stress with buying art supplies and now I'm stuck with a full set of oil paints and at least 3 different Gessos.

I love Hell is Us, especially because it's so fearless without being sensationalist or turning violence and grief into voyeuristic entertainment while having these topics front and center.

A piece of weird fiction that feels real and convincing in all the right places in all the right ways.

It's noteworthy that there are no male equivalents. It's female influencers, models, actresses. And the men behind them never tire of telling us that they'd do anything they want them to do, no talking back.

They just want obedient, controllable women they don't need to pay.

I remember an old Reddit threat from years ago where someone asked nurses what kind of secrets patients on their death bed tell them.

So many said a lot of old ladies confessed to murdering an abusive husband, some more than one, because freeing themselves through divorce was not in the cards.

warum denkst du, dass es auf Bluesky dumm ist?

Bluesky ist ein amerikanisches Unternehmen, dass sich an die US Gesetze halten muss. Käme eine Kennzeichnungspflicht, müssten sie es machen.

Daran ändert auch AT-Proto nichts, die App selbst ist nicht Open Source.

Dass man nicht sofort denkt "haha lustig" sondern erstmal recherchieren und prüfen muss, ob es echt ist, zeigt uns doch ganz genau wie weit der Faschismus schon ist.

Wir können sowas nicht mehr sofort als Witz erkennen und ausschließen, weil er längst wieder da ist.

I don't know if rentals are available where you are, but any chance you can rent an iPhone 15 Pro or 16 Pro for travel? Add a 30 buck clip on CPL filter and you have a more than decent travel cam that lets you shoot in RAW.

Or maybe a used old Sony Alpha mirrorless model + a zoom lens in automode.

Mit Enzymreiniger z.B. BactoDes. Zersetzt alle geruchsbildenden Bakterien durch natürliche Prozesse und ist umweltfreundlich. Bei starkem Geruch ein paar mal nass einsprühen und über ein paar Tage feucht halten. Wenn sich doch was hält, dann noch ein neutralisierendes Enzymsäckchen drauflegen.

definition of soulslike on Wikipedia says high difficulty, repeated player death driving mastery, environmental storytelling in a dark fantasy setting.

Checks out.

Should it have options? Yes. But it also didn’t hide that it’ll mop the floor with the player. It was not marketed as metroidvania.

it is tagged as soulslike on Steam, it’s also heralded as soulslike metroidvania by the game’s press.

I agree on difficulty options, no
need to exclude players. But I still find the complaints weird when the marketing, genre placement and professional critiques are all about soulslike difficulty.

or maybe it exposes people who give up easily and underestimated a soulslike because it looks cute.

Several Hollow Knight bosses took weeks to beat. Complaining not even 2 weeks after release about not breezing through is weird.

Act 3 is in the same ballpark as other soulslike’s late game content.

Auf europäischer Ebene haben wir dann noch die hoch angesehenen Filmfestspiele in Cannes (goldener Löwe) und die Filmfestspiele in Venedig (Goldene Palme), die international teils begehrter sind als Oscars
