In 2006 I was at a shoe store in Milan that sold gently worn luxury shoes with Bettina Mussomeli and the cellist Jennifer Culp (who is fabulously stylish) and they told me to buy a pair of Moreschi boots that I’ve just taken to the cobbler to be resoled for the 2nd time. They’re still gorgeous.

So many wonderful moments from Catherine O'Hara, but this is the one I thought of. Just her and the camera and she makes it so, so, funny. Her performance is perfectly punctuated www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUGK...

I’m always amused when a hugely popular book is discovered to not suck.
“Infinite Jest” is a masterpiece and a pleasure to read, Hermione Hoby writes. “Perhaps the greatest disjunction between the book’s reputation and its contents lies in the notion that it’s a pretentious slog no one could honestly enjoy.” newyorkermag.visitlink.me/xQHtnb

I've actually been meaning to reread Infinite Jest since my brother passed from a drug overdose, because it taught me so much about addiction and (even more so) recovery. I genuinely enjoyed reading it the first time, and had no idea what practically utility it would hold for me personally.

Anyone who thinks a single person can’t move mountains hasn’t read The Power Broker.

This clarity of communication feels like power.

lol - I hope they’re treating Don nicely, but also, what a boon for his career. Talk about a scoop.
Don was taken into custody by federal agents last night in Los Angeles.

Took 4 episodes, but Starfleet Academy managed to put out a tolerable episode of Star Trek.

I feel like the over investment in data centers won’t hurt us much but I don’t see any good coming from the over investment in concentration camps.

Crazy what Republicans will spend money on and what they won’t. Truly bonkers. The deficit spending under Trump is destroying our future.

Rahm, my dude, you are a youthful 67 now, but you’d be in office as a 70 year old. wtf man. Know your own limitations, the limitations of biology.
Rahm Emanuel's “combination of policy talk, moral reflection and candid critiques of recent Democratic fixations is distinctive, and there’s impressive political savvy in what he foregrounds and how he frames it,” argues Frank Bruni.

Oklahoma Governor Stitt just said Trump is fucking up and that sensible Immigration Reform would be something like allowing states to issue work permits.
