Enjoyed a breakfast of small meat (lamb and more) and foul (beans and more) at the Yemenin Kitchen in Lodge Lane.

I'm also a sucker for the flat bread and sweet tea.

Enjoyed a 'rice and three curries' meal at This and That Cafe in Manchester.

Cafeteria style serving, v basic interior, good value. Got v busy after opening. Read that it's been a hidden gem since opening in 1984.

Went to one of my favourite places, Tasty Polish Cooking in Norris Gree, yesterday. Loved this beetroot soup and then great fried, breaded chicken (which is hiding a load of mashed potato).

Main course even more extravagant, salad, cucumber and yoghurt, rice with dried berries, rice with a crispy bottom, chicken cooked in a tomato sauce. Lovely.

Eating homemade iranian food in Huyton and it's delicious, this is an aubergine, mint, walnut and onion starter, with Turkish bread.

Thoroughly enjoyed steak, breaded fish and a selection of interesting sides at Drykela, a Brazilian place in Wavertree. The coffee with the milk pudding dessert was delicious.

Many years ago I lived in a shared house next door to a cat we called 'doctor evil' because he was nippy and antisocial. This was the one and only time he sat on me - or anyone from our house - after four years. He died a few weeks later and I've always wondered if it was related.

Realpy enjoyed this food (lamb and mixed vegetables, lentils and beans) at the Ethiopian restaurant in Kensington last night. I forget the name. Served on inerja bread.

The traditonal coffee was superb.

Made a meal from the north European plain, with sausage and cabbage salad from the polish shop off Smithdown Road, german beer, and British potatoes.

And spniach manouche and beef and eggs at Blends in the city, by Williamson Square. Plus some naughty tres leche dessert!
