There's argument to be made that the current US retreat into decline, infantilism and isolation is the final victory of OBL. Hegseth is the epitome of this narrative - scarred by the 'forever wars' which OBL successfully dragged Bush into, he now leads the retreat with furious resentment.

A totally under reported part of this whole fiasco - the terrible american lack of security. They are probably leaking secret info to almost every security agency in the world through their incompetence.

I remember when there was a discussion on Twitter about Shein's manufacturing practices and some apologists invented all sorts of fantastical machinery and technology to avoid facing the more horrifying truth. Reminds me of this comedian's joke.

A bit oversold. There's no 200 year old mystery over how an army was destroyed through starvation and cold during a long retreat during the Russian winter. It's just now we know some of them had one extra disease amongst several.

I don't disagree but I think they don't care enough either way. They're not bothered enough to oppose the war and.not bothered enough to embrace it. They're used to swallowing official lies for an easy life and will do it again.

They can spin any story they like. I read a lot of vk groups. Most russian people just not 'into' the war. Even when they say things like nuke kyiv its more like 'i want all this over'. They care more about crime, jobs, immigration, inflation etc. The war is one more headache.
