Probably marking. Or thinking about marking at least…
It is not going to stop drugs either - bombing doesn’t do much to disrupt smuggling routes, and criminal thrive in chaos anyway - look at Afghanistan.

What’s the POINT?

Does the US wish to get the populace to rise up against the govt. If so bombing is not going to do it - indeed, is more likely to lead to unity against the US, rather than against the regime. They are used to appalling shortages / poor quality of life, so it would be difficult to make things worse.

Same resolutions this year - except we have a cat, so ‘be a good human to the cat’ is the replacement…

We definitely have great taste in cats. And you are a great wife. Thank you for everything dearest heart.

The problem is, he is a very handsome dog!

I live in the UK, and I don’t think C&H was syndicated to any British newspapers. I discovered Peanuts through the tv specials, and C&H through anthologies sold in bookshelves.

I have not heard of this - I will have a look!

Thank you! I will enjoy reading these.

Ooh! I was thinking more multi panel comic strips, rather than single panel - but you are right: Gary Larson is VERY good.

Along with Peanuts, this is the greatest comic strip ever created. Both are wonders of the imagination, philosophical and deeply humane. They are important works of art, indisputably.

strive to make them feel unwelcome. It is a horrendously state of affairs. I am so so sorry.

This all makes me so sad and ANGRY. My American wife has worked so hard to pass her Citizenship test (which she did just before Christmas!) and is so keen to become a citizen of the auk, but this discourse is so upsetting for her. She, like you and so many others are a credit to the UK, and yet we

The roof is 19th century Arts and Crafts, painted by Henry Styleman Le Strange (great name!), and Thomas Gambier Parry. Ely was very much damaged by the nutty reformers - the Lady Chapel is one of the great examples of iconoclasm from the C16th. It is a glorious building overall, and my local Cath.

Sorry - it is James II (William of Orange adjacent, though…)
December 29, 2025 at 5:22 PM
William of Orange (and if not this episode, certainly should be the subject of a future one - he really did suck)

I like the idea that someone else walking in the mist would see you in your fantastic 1940s style clothing and think YOU were the ghost…

Thank you for your always entertaining, erudite and thoughtful posts in 2025. You are one of my favourite accounts on Bluesky. All good things for 2026.

Great painting! Visited the Surgeons’ Hall Museum just before Christmas. Your presentation on the dissection was brilliant - as was the entire exhibition. Was particularly fascinated by the exhibit on war surgery in the pathology hall. Informative, moving and sensitively done. Thank you to all there

Horrific article. Another example of ‘boys will be boys’ syndrome, and the moral abnegation of responsibility of someone who really should have known better.
