I love public libraries 💞 and the abundance of resources they offer to the community. They’ve played such an important role in my life since I was a child and they continue to do so. This week I visited two different libraries to utilize the sewing machines they had in their maker spaces 🪡🧵

Das Boot Camp is closing in Norman 😔 so made time today to eat there one more time.

Today’s good: Had lunch with friends and then they let me borrow their serger 🥹. It was so nice chatting while we all worked on different projects and I was thankful I could ask them for sewing advice. I had felt a little overwhelmed with my project beforehand but talking to them helped so much 💞

Second Story Books & Cafe held a Book Journal set up event (it was free!) and a lot of the community showed up~ It was a little overwhelming 🫢 but I loved getting to talk to others about our planners and we ended up sharing journaling supplies with each other. Overall a super wholesome time 💖

There’s an exhibit inside of me that is about Tolkien & his universe & I’m not mad about it. It’s been very present around me lately in a lovely way. I’m reading The Hobbit, my bookstore is doing an event on Tolkien’s birthday, & there was an LOTR sticker on the door of my gym yesterday when I went.

Got to play around with some air dry clay today and made Calcifer and soot sprite worry stones ✨

Had to break out the cute aprons I got from Mexico. Felt so nostalgic and made me think of my grandma 💗. We finally got through both the savory and sweet tamales (I’m excited to see how the daiya “cheese” turns out and also curious to try my aunt’s version of sweet tamales)

Helped out with RDC’s cook 4 a crowd today- I can’t always make it to every one of these because of distance, work, or bandwidth but it’s important to be able to discern where one can stretch oneself without breaking for community.
