There’s an exhibit inside of me that is about Tolkien & his universe & I’m not mad about it. It’s been very present around me lately in a lovely way. I’m reading The Hobbit, my bookstore is doing an event on Tolkien’s birthday, & there was an LOTR sticker on the door of my gym yesterday when I went.

In between coffee shop hopping, I also visited Trove Arts & Crafts (a reuse arts & crafts store) and OKC’s Artist Closet (mutual aid space that provides free art supplies) and in both locations we talked about an upcoming event at one of our local bookstores… I’m grateful for this community.

One of my other colleagues had a little gift for me (a stress ball haha). My PTO request was approved and I’m so excited to be off for half a month later this month and hopefully get to have a good vacation 🤞🏽

In spite of this- there was good in my day too. I had a lovely walk in the morning where I was able to enjoy nature. I was able to see someone’s hard work and dedication bear the fruit of their labors and I’m so happy for them. A coworker gave me a lift to pick up my car.

Had to break out the cute aprons I got from Mexico. Felt so nostalgic and made me think of my grandma 💗. We finally got through both the savory and sweet tamales (I’m excited to see how the daiya “cheese” turns out and also curious to try my aunt’s version of sweet tamales)

And I’m so grateful I went because it ended up being just two of us… so if I hadn’t gone the workload would have fallen upon one person.
