Affordability is just the 2025 way of saying "it's the economy stupid". It's ALWAYS the economy. The Democratic leadership had a winning message focusing on healthcare costs and food subsidies. Then they blinked.
Meanwhile the MAGA is tanking the economy to satisfy the Mad King.

A short list of who to primary.
a close up of a man 's face with a beard looking at the camera .
Alt: Close up of a Stansfield (Gary Oldman), the corrupt DEA agent in the film Leon: The Professional. He's a white guy about 40, with stringy brown hair and an unkempt mustache/goatee thing going on. He's sweating more than an agent should sweat unless he's chasing someone. Wearing an off-white suit jacket. In the GIF he turns to the camera and says "EVERYONE!", as in that's all of the backup agents he wants his guys to call to handle the rapidly deteriorating tactical situation he has put himself in as he tries to capture the hitman Leon.

An administration that was running to SCOTUS to halt payments to hungry Americans was not winning the public battle. There was zero reason for this deal now. It was bad negotiation strategy and bad politics. I just can't fathom what they were thinking.

People want a Democratic leadership never, ever stops fighting for them. It's not about winning, it's about never giving up. That's what the American people deserve, not kowtowing to a dictator. What's more shameful here is that we were winning!

So Chuck figured AOC was going to primary him anyway and he was going to lose, so he approved another horrible capitulation and betrayal of the American people. Was that the calculus to just go along to get along now?

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.
The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.
People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.
And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

THIS is getting the "worst of the worst" out of the country? Of course not. It's what happens when evil leaders give desperate people a quota and tell them that nothing they do to hit that quota will be held against them. Everyone in ICE is complicit in this horrific abuse of Constitutional rights.

No other law enforcement agency in the country is allowed to operate like this. ICE needs to be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up.
Ice agents crashing into US citizens then forcibly detaining them.
They don’t know how to hold guns. They clearly don’t have any training. They obviously aren’t following the laws.
This is embarrassing for our country and dangerous for our citizens.

The saber-rattling at Venezuela and Nigeria isn't about saving Americans from drugs or Christians from violence. Trump doesn't care about other people. He only cares about money. Both countries are stilling on billions in oil and minerals that Trump could control after an invasion. He's a mob boss.

In hindsight, it was probably a bad idea for voters to put the full force of the US state apparatus and military in the hands of a guy who bragged that he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and not lose any support, and who was also granted immunity by the Supreme Court before taking office.
