‘That was a really stupid question & it doesn’t even deserve an answer’ said Zahwi when asked how he felt about a deranged anti-vaxer helping to write the health policies of the party he’d joined. Presumably, because ‘I have no principles’ doesn’t sound so good. www.independent.co.uk/tv/news/refo...

It's taken a few years, but I've finally framed and hung the painting I did of Mary Midgley shortly after her death. Now, she can stare over my shoulder when I'm in an online meeting or seminar, judging people who start on any bullshit.

Here’s just some of that Royal Society code of conduct. It looks extremely clear to me that Musk is breaching it in multiple ways. It also seems clear to me that the Royal Society has explicitly set out that it should judge the character & actions o its fellows.

Ah, it was later than I'd remembered.

This deeply weird guy hired the grandson of a fascist to run Palantir in the UK because he really admired that fascist.

I know what the Clark quote reminds me of: it reads like a ’nice things are nice‘ riff on Oakeshot‘s contemporaneous essay ‘On Being Conservative‘. Still, preferring gentleness to violence, & forgiveness to vendetta, is almost radical today.

My 'Mamdani was definitely not talking about people like me.' shirt has people asking a lot of questions already answered by my shirt.

Ovenden is utterly contemptuous of the idea of government accountability and transparency (I expect because he was forced to resign after messages revealed him making really disgusting sexual remarks about Diane Abbott).

There’s a company in the UK advertising wills specially designed to keep your inheritance out of the hands of your nasty in-laws! Helping you keep your bloodline pure with a ‘Family First‘ approach so your wealth doesn‘t leave your bloodline. Bloodline planning! Our older generation is unwell.

I, a man in his 50s and serious academic, still cannot help sniggering when I write Great Tits. I am having too much fun with this paper, which will make up for me hating it when it's finished.

I had a couple of my favourites printed on a mug, so I can drink the tears of my haters.

Oh, this is another scam Indian journal pretending to be part of Elsevier, complete with their branding on what it in all other respect a web design crime. They even have a screenshot of the Elsevier journal by the same name on their website.

Getting into the Christmas spirit with a festive holiday biopsy. Ho ho ho!

This is wild, but also quite interesting given that Musk was ranting about fusion reactors only a few days ago, calling attempts to make them 'super dumb'. You do wonder if that tweet was directed at Trump in particular.

Popped into Waterstones to but a gift card & caught be cunning marketing trickery. In just the same way that supermarkets place sweets at the checkout to catch the weak-willed impulse buyer, Waterstones are displaying beautiful mythos texts by the card-reader. So underhanded. It is lovely though.

Slow progress on my latest self-portrait because by the time I'm finished work most days the light is bad & I'm too tired. Winter isn't good for stitching. Still, progress is progress. Largely doing this because I decided my website doesn't have enough pictures of me & I'm bored of pen & ink.

I'm puzzled by this, because my understanding was that it has been illegal since 1866 for US coins to carry the image of any living president or former president. So, I don't know why you'd need a new bill. This is like introducing a law to make breaking the law illegal.

Do I want to spend the £2.52 on Prof. Dr. Felix’s 15 handcrafted poems for lovers? I’m not sure I do. Although, the blurb does say that ‘Each poem is a masterpiece’, so maybe I shouldn’t let this opportunity slip by?

Meanwhile, I learn that his research interests are even wider than I’d first realised, and that he has spoken at several international conferences. He’s even been a keynote at one. This is quite some list.

Prof. Dr. ̶W̶a̶l̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶M̶i̶t̶t̶y̶ Felix lists has a broad range of research interests. He’s an expert in of them. His LinkedIn profile also lists a surprising amount of experience for a 30 year old. You can’t deny his self-promotion skills.
