They’d have to admit it was theirs first. Remember what Russia did when Turkey shot down a Russian fighter jet? The answer is nothing. I seriously doubt Russia would do anything they aren’t already doing. They’d just whine. Otherwise, they’re at war with NATO.

The Americans tried to do this with bats in WWII. They were to be targeted at the Japanese on grounds that their houses were wood and paper. A US base burned down and the plan was eventually abandoned: taskandpurpose.com/history/bat-...
That time the US military burned down one of its own bases with a 'bat bomb'
A Pennsylvania dentist thought a “bat bomb," with 1,000 bats starting fires, would end the war faster than the atomic bomb.

I know the UK has been threatened with sanctions. But honestly, the US does not get to decide which of our domestic laws get enforced & if our politicians won’t make that clear then they need to resign.

I’ve met hundreds of politicians and that’s just not true. In fact, I think the idea that it is only serves the worst of them. Most politicians I have met, from all parties except the far-right, are well-motivated people trying to improve people’s lives. The bad ones skew perceptions.

That’s very strange behaviour. Also admission that maybe they shouldn’t have set their own book?

I hate that awful spot where it costs more in time to file the return than the extra bit of work is worth.

Still too much denial in Europe, with too many clinging to the notion that nonconfrontation, persuasion, and appeal to shared national interest will get the U.S. government to change course, but more Europeans are recognizing the unsubtle pattern.
Trump has nearly exceptionless track records of both

- keep demanding more from people who appease him

- backing down against people who stand up to him

Pretty clear choice!

If you earn less than £1000 in a tax year doing that then it’s covered by the trading allowance & you don’t need to file a self-assessment return.

AFAIK, they’re risky investment funds with potentially higher returns. In order to offset risks in particular areas of investment, some of the fund is invested in areas which fluctuate in opposite ways (the hedge).
