Thank you so much @stfx-dh.bsky.social for hosting DHSI-East. I’m headed home with much more sustainable plans for a challenging project. It can definitely be a static site with Endings Project search! It was inspiring to learn with digital humanists for four days… I’ll be back. <🦞>

Love this. In his “I Agree” installation Dima Yarovinsky-Yahel took the content from terms of service statements for companies like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Tinder and printed them out on A4 paper with a standard font size for legal contracts to demonstrate the length of these agreements.
Alt-Txt: Two people stand before multi-color strips of paper with text on them that stretch down an entire wall and onto the floor. The title of the installation "I Agree" appear in all caps on the wall, too.

This book is really good, especially on this point: 'A focus on Digital History can make the rest of the historical profession think that "we are not digital historians", as they fire up their web browsers and research over the Internet. We are all digital now.' 🗃️ www.cambridge.org/core/books/t...

RESEARCH SPOTLIGHT: What Can the Women Do: Women and the Antigonish and Cooperatives Movement.

This project is a feminist historical case study on women in the Antigonish Movement & connected cooperative movements in Nova Scotia.

Prin. Investigator: Dr. Robin Neustaeter
Student RA: Sophie Gallant
A photo of two women. A graphic featuring details of the research project: This research project is a feminist historical case study on women in the Antigonish Movement and connected cooperative movements in Nova Scotia. The Antigonish movement combined adult education and economic development to support people in communities to change their social and economic realities through cooperative action and learning. A quote from Dr. Robin Neustaeter: With its connection to StFX, this study is an excellent opportunity for StFX students to build knowledge and critically think about the university where they are doing their degree. It offers a unique perspective, shifting the gaze away from the men to women, and away from the ivory tower to the communities and people in communities. A quote from Sophie Gallant: I am so inspired by everything these women accomplished by defying the societal expectations of the early-mid 1900s and creating social and economic change.
