Should not say could. Tofu, beans, lentils, chickpeas, seitan, vegan mince, edamame pasta and so on 100% provides amazing nutrients at a super affordable price point.

With health and fitness outcomes that easily rival any animal-based, higher-SPC, high-protein food plan you can create 💪💪🏆
Canada's Food Price Report 2026: Beef prices are up. Chicken prices set to rise. "Plant-based alternatives like tofu, beans, lentils & chickpeas could provide an affordable and comparatively price-stable way for Canadians to meet their protein needs amid the rising cost of meat."

2021 study crushes the “soy lowers testosterone” myth.

A meta-analysis of 41 clinical studies (1750+ men) shows no reduction from soy or isoflavone consumption on total T, free T, SHBG, or estradiol.

Soy is a safe, complete protein for athletes.

Everything is relative & everyone can improve. So while this is a very good martial artist already he did ask for feedback on what to improve.

Good to see that some countries still understand that we can not let the harmful fossil fuel lobby & nations break down the global road to vastly better sustainability & health.

Soy milk vs cows milk.

Small differences as always, but Soymilk comes out slightly better for health outcomes, which should surprise no one. Its the Strength By Fitness milk choice since many years.

Why is it our n1 milk choice both for coaching & our own lifestyle?

And equally inportant. While its not popular to say, the scientific reality of life on earth right now is that animal-based agriculture is so far beyond our planet's sustainable limits that the current production & consumption can not continue as is.

We humans need far more sustainable food habits.
🐓 Shocks from avian flu, drought, and inflation have exposed vulnerabilities in animal protein supply chains.

🌱 A new report from FAIRR investor network urges major food manufacturers and retailers to expand their plant-based offerings as a strategy for supply chain stability and long-term growth.
Investors call for more plant-based proteins from food manufacturers and retailers: FAIRR
Food companies must address risks in the meat industry related to both changing consumer preference trends and supply chain vulnerabilities.

"Body composition is critical for metabolic health. The more headroom in your energy storage tissues—space for fat in adipocytes and room in muscle for glycogen—the better your insulin sensitivity".

Strength train weekly.
Maintain regular sleep 6 to 8 hour.
Eat nutritionally rich, protein & fiber rich higher-SPC foods.
Walk often
Run 2 to 4x per week.
Say no to alcohol

= The real road to keeping off excess body fat, strongly boosting health outcomes & fixing t2d.

Excellent advice from David in this thread. It sums up how I approach my own fitness lifestyle ( weekly running, strength and martial arts ) as well as how I coach each of our clients.

I dont keep the recovery period on a calender, but its regular & when needed, longer than 1 easier week.
(Quick Thread)

Lately I’ve been going back to basics, reminding myself what actually keeps me healthy and moving long-term.

It’s not fancy shoes or perfect splits — it’s the simple stuff most of us forget.

Here’s the checklist I keep coming back to:

All the sensible diet tribe variations have their use case.

But they all work if nutritional intake is good relative to your energy intake. Once you reach that place its really just individual preference and context ( food allergies for instance ) + adding exercise.

Pollution & sustainability matters greatly for human health. Never make the mistake of pretending otherwise 💪💪☕️

Good habits will always move everyone in the right direction. Your genes then decide just how far your ceiling goes or the pace of progression.

But everyone who maintains healthy habits across fitness, nutrition, sleep and recovery will always improve.

Exercising weekly is always worthwhile and it will always lead to better health, fitness and body composition outcomes compared to not exercising.

Any other narrative is plain wrong.

Couple it with healthy, nutritious foods & regular sleep to get even better outcomes 💪💪.

Mike O Hearn say a lot of fluff thats way off. But in this one he gets it perfect. Because some people cheat themselves out of actual progress & performance with 0 additional benefits unlocked.

Train hard & proper and dont be one of those fools 💪💪.

Don't get married to diet tribe dogma. Health, fitness, and food are all about facts and science and the real outcomes from your ongoing choices and habits.

Keep it real 💪💪.
October 18, 2025 at 8:55 AM
Why do you exercise ( or would really like to start exercising on the regular)?

I have been exercising weekly for my entire life. 40+ years for health, performance & fitness capacity, sports, & because its plain fun and better.

100% agreed. Blocking leg & calf kicks is 1 option. But intelligently moving your lower body out of the way is the better option for the higher-skilled fighter. Lowers the risk of injury & opens up superior counters from striking, kicks, elbows & knees.
