Help us support bus lanes on Bank St: strongtownsottawa.ca/Bank

The broken watermain is from 1957.

For reference, Carling is from 1913, Catherine is 1899, Slater is 1875!

We are FAR behind on replacing our aging pipes, and council just this past summer voted to defer $2 billion in recommended replacements. Expect much more of this!

And this one touching on street safety, the evolving nature of Major Park (like all post-war subdivisions over the coming decades with Zoning changes etc), and financial argument for building complete streets as part of integrated renewal

Yes absolutely, we're super happy with how good of an age distribution we seem to have! People from all age groups, genders, backgrounds, etc... seem to understand how big of a problem our current city planning is! It gives us a lot of hope for the future <3 - Marko

If you haven't been before, they're a great opportunity to get some hands on work, meet some members, do some light socializing, and try to make a difference in your city!

For those interested people also will be going over to 3 Brewers on Sparks/Bank afterwards for some socializing!

Couldn't agree more Nick! Likewise taking the bus is often the least efficient option for us, which is a shame because it should be one of the more efficient ones! - Marko

Also again, we reiterate that bus lanes won't solve every issue, but it is pointless to say we shouldn't make some improvements until some arbitrary line we've passed where we now think it's ok to have bus lanes. Every bit helps, delaying it is the worst possible choice we can make.

The buses that you were waiting for are part of a broader system. Every route has indirect impacts on other routes. If a bus is stuck in traffic on one route it means it can't make it to the next route.

Buses are always using bus lanes. They just aren't stuck in them like cars get stuck.

Buses being stuck in traffic means they can't be there to fill in for gaps that are needed

Buses being stuck in traffic is actually one of the reasons that buses get cancelled, so this is actually a way to fix the issue you're noticing here.

Also bus lanes alone are obviously not going to solve all of our problems, but they absolutely will help.
