I'm sorry. I haven't had the mental fortitude to look at the comments on my new video yet. I poured all of my love for Zelda into it and it's hard to actually see the reception after working on it for so long in isolation. Ironically, I need to reconnect most of all. I hope it is being enjoyed.

I cannot recommend Demonic Archive, Abyssal Archive and Grace Given enough.
Haven't gotten Blood Echoes yet and haven't gotten around to reading my copy of "You Died" but these books are incredibly insightful and interesting for anyone wanting to dive deep into Fromsoft lore.

I contemplate quitting YouTube often if only because it would mean that I could engage with art without having to see or think about any of this ever again.
All I set out to do is talk about games I like, and yet someone will tell me I have no integrity for thinking Tears of the Kingdom is good.

I hate the online reaction cycle that praises a piece of art a lot and uses it as an example of what’s good about the medium but then the moment it gets awards or enough acclaim or fandom, suddenly we have to talk about how it’s actually not really that good and it’s overrated and always sucked

That has really come through in developing this Tears video. I had completely forgotten about how I used to write Zelda videos because I was afraid of how this one would be perceived. I've discarded the prevailing narrative about the game entirely, and just wrote entirely from the heart, as before.

Other than that, Berserk and Vagabond are obvious, must-read manga. Berserk is great for just persevering through life itself, while Vagabond uses Musashi's journey as a metaphor for Takehiko Inoue's own artistic journey. Both have some of the best artwork I've seen in the medium.

Apparently he also wrote over 50% of the scan visor messages himself when translating them into Japanese. He had a far larger role in this game than I ever knew.
