The principle remains sound in my view but the implementation can be improved. I feel there is a need for reform to close the avenues for political interference presented by a) charter renewal and b) ministerial appointments to the the board. Mutualisation would increase direct public accountability

Their only human contact was going to the pub to chat and they lost it. Pubs perform a vital community service for many people and that is often overlooked.

Will be at the Finger this evening... but I'm sure you see the point. A community the size of ours shouldn't be without a pub in walking distance. Not everyone can drive or cycle. I remember when the Greenridge shut, it was devastating to some of the old boys that would walk there daily.

Unfortunately, my local was knocked down to build a care home. Upton is now a population of > 10,000 with no pub at all. Sadly that doesn't look like it's going to change any time soon.

James, what relevant measures are those? Just polls? I don't see him losing Parliamentary votes, unable to govern or lead his party? I think he could probably use some jeopardy to pull him left and Zach Polanski is doing good things to provide it but I don't think his position is close to untenable.

It's been deliberately undermined from within. Gibb and Shah particularly culpable. BBC journalists need to go on strike until they are removed IMO.

When you look at the growing far-right online media eco-system in many Western countries, you quickly get a sense of a completely different perception of what constitutes reality and basic facts, long before you get to difference on opinion or perception.
