I'll sometimes get envious of my illustrator friends and their lovely paintings before remembering that I'm one of the few who can walk the Path of Perpetual Pain (comics), being stubborn and sturdy enough to resist the Madness.
I love LOVE when illustrators go "I'm making a comic!!" and 1 month later they post 3 pages with something like "I literally prefer torture, please no more"

People are skeptical about the decline in numbers of people who read books in the U.S. but you only need to talk with high schoolers to see that it's not overblown. It's part of the reason that the revival of zines is important IMO because they make reading and writing less daunting.

Utah commissioned it's department of health to do a systematic review of gender affirming care for trans youth. In a 1000 page plus report found it was beneficial and the evidence was substantial. The lawmakers rejected it anyways.
