Update from the Mahmoud Khalil case; at his first immigration court hearing, it appears that the government didn’t even have any evidence ready and the judge is giving them until Friday to submit it or she will terminate the case.

I think about this a lot. The law protects some groups who are structurally f**ked but not others. And when lawyers use those laws to try and lift up some groups, how does this play with others, basically white working class men?

Labour promised to do something about this but of course hasn't.
Perhaps we need social status as a protected characteristic to ensure more working class voices are on boards, in parliament etc.
