6. collection of the Quartermass scripts so keep an eye out, long overdue as copies of the originals are getting a bit scarce.

5. Kneale went on to do other things, noteablely the Anthology show Beasts & the most scariest version of The Woman In Black but he will be forever associated with Quatermass.
The Good news is that Commapress who reissued his 1949 collection Tomato Cain in 2022 are(or were)planning an omnibus

4. in 2005 (starring Dr Who actor David tennant & Mark Gattis).
The original 6-part series is missing & this script is useful to get the whole picture, esp. as some scenes were cut for the movie versions, & the photo plates reveal that Katie Johnson of Ealings The Ladykillers also starred in it.

3. Quatermass was hugely popular & had a lasting influence (Part. in Dr Who- who gave him a 1st name check in the MCcoy tale Rememberance of The Daleks).
This was remade twice, once as a feature film by Hammer in 1955 (recently released on HD & BR ltd. ed.) & the BBC remade it as a TV movie for BBc4

2. I actually managed to get all four Quatermass books a while back but until now had only read the last one from 1979 which is the only one that's a novel- the 1st three are the TV scripts which, I believe the BBC released much to Kneale's annoyance (any Kneale fans please correct me if I'm wrong)

6. a self-perpetuating myth that can no longer sustain the illusion of its self & thus collapses. I have to confess, in reading it, Debord was prob. not one of these intelluctuals who could/can express their complex ideas to the general reader which is a pity.

4. Situationist International was disbanded in 1972 & Debord turned his attention to filmaking.
Debord suffered from depression & alcoholism that led to Polyneuritis which m.ay have been the underlying cause/motive for his suicide by self-inflicted gunshot wound to the heart.
