If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

Marjorie Taylor Greene's resigning in time to get a pension is a lesson to everyone.

Most Americans don't get *any* pension anymore, but Congress gave itself a pension after only five years of work.

Our "representatives" aren't working for us, they are [barely] working for themselves.

On Monday I got booted from facebook for no clear reason. After a week here, I find I'm posting much less personal stuff, and promoting my books much more. I don't like that balance, but it's what I've been moved to contribute this week. Maybe I can do better next week.

You like reading. But do you like math?!

If you like math and are solid on your algebra, I have 2 or 3 books, not-yet-published, that you might want to read.

Cost? Tell me what you think, and how I can improve them. Email me at [email protected] if interested.

Now I teach for AOPS and I write.

I love teaching for AOPS. This semester I'm teaching algebra. artofproblemsolving.com

I'm writing a series of 4 YA novels, with math exploration at the center. I'm currently working on Althea and the Mysteries of Calculus.

Intro: I love teaching math. But after covid hit, I taught online. My job became too hard (making canvas pages, grading online, etc) and less satisfying (no study sessions at my house, less participation, more cheating). So I retired (a bit earlier than planned). Now ...

I have not yet spent much time here on bsky. (I got kicked off fb on Monday for no reason I can see. So I'm getting my fix here.)

I'm not happy with the interface. I get notifications of people's replies, but no context. Which post of mine are they replying to?

And now search isn't finding a post.

I live in the Bay Area (Richmond, CA). I'm going to the CMC North math conference at Asilomar (Dec 5 to 7). Would anyone like a ride? (I'd rather drive with someone else with me.)

Imagine learning trig or calculus in a cozy little group at home, with Althea's Mom explaining.

You can ask things like, "Is there a reason finding slopes is important?" And she'll tell you about science.

I seem to be in a copy editing mood. I just opened my first print copy (from lulu) of Althea and the Mysteries of Calculus, and had to ask the internet: different from or different than? 1600s or 1600's?

I'm not quite at that stage. More like: Are the explanations clear? Does the dialogue flow?

Again, I don’t want to get too personal but the most tepidly political, structurally vulnerable people in my life were protesting ICE all week. The juxtaposition here is just wild.
The degree to which the Democratic Party is failing to meet this moment is staggering. And INFURIATING, when contrasted with the courage on display from ordinary people with far, far less power & protection.

A9 I believe we learn best through play, and also through story. I believe my Althea stories can make a difference. They are not elementary level, but if you're interested in seeing a pre-publication version (and maybe offering feedback), email me at [email protected].

Wonder: So what is it?

I'm looking for readers to give feedback on my young adult novel with math exploration, Althea and the Mysteries of Triangles, Circles, and Pi. Althea's mom guides 4 teens through a bit of geometry and a bit of trig. Fun reading for break.

Friends, please post to my timeline to tell others. I don't have the energy for this nonsense. I hope some fb alternative becomes available soon.
