if you’re too attractive you get pressured not to transition bc it’ll make you unfuckable but if you’re too ugly you also get pressured not to transition bc it’s clearly just the fact you’re failing at womanhood making you think you’re trans 🙃 great system for healthcare access 🙃

true, but both “I don’t want to fuck you” and “I don’t want to be around you” are contributing factors to the border policing around why people supposedly can’t call themselves gay/lesbian, e.g. how much barring trans people from those labels stems from discussions of sex, desire and respectability.
suicyborg.bsky.social
also no one actually count how many trans men or transmasculine non-binary people are actually platformed in any meaningful way or enabled to contribute anything nuanced or meaningful about trans men and transmascs.
suicyborg.bsky.social
every single academic writing about transness is apparently a transmasc which is basically a man and therefore has male privilege and also the kind of afab non-binary that’s basically the same as being a cis woman so also cis privileged. and they can all ‘weaponise’ being afab and/or lesbians. 🙃

“if you are insufficiently capable of providing for others to our cultural standard and/or of taking on our version of the Masculine Protector™️ role, you are a failure of a man and have no real value as a human” is just regular patriarchal gender roles, even when ‘our’ isn’t cishet society.

there are absolutely times when a trans man might have privilege (especially when passing, class and race also come into play) but sometimes it’s just a demand for performance of “proper” manhood by the speaker’s standards, regardless of if it’s safe or even possible for us
suicyborg.bsky.social
I feel like this links to when “use your privilege” is addressed at trans men and transmascs not in relation to our actual capabilities and social standing, but as an instruction to perform a specific (often still patriarchal and hegemonic) manhood if we want to earn respect.

identity border policing definitely seems to be more limited to the gays who obsessively value homogeny (“no fats, no fems, no [insert variety of racial and transphobic slurs here]”). I think the fact there was never an equivalent of radical feminism for queer men is partly why it’s more contained.

fun fact: married (binary) trans people in the uk still have to get their spouse’s formal consent to gain legal recognition and if the spouse won’t agree, you have to either divorce them or apply to have the marriage fully annulled

people should not be reduced to starving themselves to death or forced to continue living with no quality of life because someone else has hang ups about death or because another person in their situation (who’s often purely hypothetical) might not want to die. it’s evil.
suicyborg.bsky.social
forcing people to tolerate the intolerable or kill themselves in ways that are messy, painful and may not succeed (if they’re able to kill themselves at all, which hospitalisation and institutionalisation often prevents) is fundamentally evil and nothing can change my mind about that.
suicyborg.bsky.social
here in the uk people are demonising assisted dying bills but even when they’re imperfect, anything is better than a version of palliative care that’s really just state-mandated torture.

The older you get, the more you experience people getting sick & dying.

Or NEEDING to die & not being allowed to do it painlessly.

I assume lots of us were alive & conscious when Jack Kevorkian was being hounded by the State for helping people commit suicide.

Because... GOD SAYS NOT TO.

not to mention that from any distance when the text is illegible, it’ll look even more like the same racist nationalism it’s supposedly combatting
suicyborg.bsky.social
last thing I want is to see more england flags kicking about. even if they have nice text on them, an england flag flown outside sports has only ever been a hate symbol for my entire lifetime

I know I don’t pass but at what point is it either stupidity or malice for people to look at someone with a whole moustache and go ‘yeah this is someone who would use she (or maybe they) pronouns’? probability odds aren’t in your favour there.
suicyborg.bsky.social
I am a very much a transsexual man and not a transmasc, but I can see how people might feel like their experiences mean “man” can’t apply to them (not to mention how claiming ‘man’ over ‘masc’ typically results in more overt transphobia and less protection/community)
suicyborg.bsky.social
I feel like part of it is the inability to square the abstract definitions and examples of ‘male privilege’ with direct experiences of misogyny and societal misgendering, especially if we didn’t always identify/assert ourselves as men.

I do wish people would stop crediting Greta Thunberg's activism and moral clarity to "autistic sense of justice" as I know several autistic people who do not have an ounce of that. There is no such thing as an autistic sense of justice. That isn't how this shit works

Unfortunately the billionaire funded online radicalisation of white people in the UK is growing and instead of getting to the root cause that endangers us all we’re being told they have legitimate concerns and government trying to give them what they want with every policy announcement

I was accidentally on too high a dose for a bit and it turns out bodies sometimes convert excess testosterone into estrogen again so ymmv depending on how much more a little bit is

1/2 of those killed (not counting the attacker) and 1/3 of those injured in the manchester attack were shot by police. will people actually be safer with police there?
suicyborg.bsky.social
maybe there are some actually reciprocal communities but most of us are not part of them and donating to a gfm is just a more direct form of charity lol
suicyborg.bsky.social
genuinely not convinced mutual aid actually exists and isn’t just a rebranding of charitable crowdfunding

in their eyes, trans people forsake protection (along with numerous other rights) when we choose to transition instead of repressing and remaining closeted. they’d be perfectly happy to ‘protect’ these kids, but only if they detransition
