You right. Let me go up my donation to the blacksky fund.

And how, pray tell, do you know what’s good for Black people? We need space to talk and not have to deal with racism, culture vulture… and paternalistic yet simultaneously racist ppl under our post telling us what is and is not good for us. Instead of support for Rudy, ppl are wasting time with you
sulainterrupted.blacksky.app
Cool. So no intention of adding value to the discussion for the Black community or providing helpful alternatives. The purpose was to point out how we are wrong, tell the commenter to let us suffer the consequences, and redirect the convo to your feelings. Clarity: that makes you a troll. Good day 👋🏾
joburtus-maximus.bsky.social
I was explaining to the other commenter that we shouldn't fight black people who want to form their own communities despite me thinking it's a bad idea to do so, because in the end it's your choice who you associate with and we shouldn't want people to associate with us if they don't want to.
sulainterrupted.blacksky.app
So again: what compelled you to comment? What was the point? If not trolling, then what? What was your intended outcome, what value or purpose did you think your voice brought to the discussion? Or you just talking to hear yourself talk (troll)?
joburtus-maximus.bsky.social
If you go back and read, I have never once told anyone not to do anything. I said very explicitly that white people shouldn't fight black people on this. I just don't think it's a good idea, I stated the reasons I think so, if people want to pretend that makes me racist I can't stop them.
sulainterrupted.blacksky.app
Your answer to this conundrum is what? It’s hypocritical to tell a group of people to not do something, when the alternative in many cases will end the same. W/O offering solutions or assistance, commenting on the topic as an outsider is trolling. Seeking understanding and silence were options.
joburtus-maximus.bsky.social
No it's not, I never obfuscated the fact that black people are poorly treated in the US, I only pointed out that black willingly isolating themselves will have similar outcomes as when white people forced black people to isolate themselves.
sulainterrupted.blacksky.app
I’m happy I saw this…because I thought I was losing my mind and my thumbs were losing theirs too. We deserve compensation for going thru this.
sulainterrupted.blacksky.app
Black people create our own communities after being unwelcome/harmed in others, the vulnerability and resulting violence is our fault? But if we “integrate” the resulting over-policing, discrimination and violence is…price of admission? Seems like “historically speaking” is just a dog whistle.
joburtus-maximus.bsky.social
Historically speaking this kind of thing hasn't gone well for black people. But if it's what their community wants then I don't think we should fight them on it. I don't want to be around anyone who doesn't want to be around me.

I should warn you that some folks find it too "masculine", because it is more woody and spicy than the OG. I actually like the dry down of the extrait more due to the addition of patchouli and vanilla. OG is beautiful too tho.

First legit fall weather day. 60s, rainy and gloomy. #SOTD Gris Charnel Extrait, layered with what I now understand to be a lotion inspired by Love Don't Be Shy (have never smelled the original). Creamy, spicy, comfy...and I forgot how long GC lasts. My god sis, clock out.

Rant: graduated law school working 2 jobs, on food stamps, 2 weeks from eviction. Bar exam where, how?! Took the first JD preferred job offered. Never barred but for 10yrs I was the “compliance” lady counsel had on speed dial and party rep attys offered bar prep+job to after my investigations closed

more should follow. the bar exam is a money grab and doesn't have ish to do with the practice of law. imagine sitting in school for three years and not being able to practice because of a timed two-day test covering areas you'll never use.

Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚

You could just talk about Jim Crow. I promise you, there's no need to leave America's shores to talk about life in a fascist state
motherjones.com
Under the Third Reich, most Germans generally lived in the law-bound normative state, while Jews and other disfavored people were victims of the arbitrary and violent prerogative state.

The dual state is characterized by the facade of normalcy obscuring the fact of an authoritarian state.
The “dual state” theory was invented to describe Nazis. The Supreme Court could take us there.
Authoritarianism—but make it look like the rule of law.

Never crossed my mind folks would try to get AI books onto library shelves. But then again folks were publishing AI foraging and pseudoscience books that were getting people ☠️

“When you get a suspicious book, “you look it up to see what else the [author] has written. And you see there's 30 things, and none of them have any reviews, and they were all written in the last two years,” DeMeester-Lane says.”
How Local Librarians Keep AI Slop Off the Shelves
AI is being used to create nonsensical, sometimes dangerously inaccurate books. Local librarians are tasked with keeping these volumes out of their collections.

Join us! Bought this last month and it’s been fun trying some of these. Tho some of the less common seafoods are harder to find in-store.

My little Martha Stewart post made it to the otherwise of the app. Woke up to a bunch of “b*ck the 🔵” and suspect/scammy follows. Absolutely not. Where is the force unfollow?! At least give us a request to follow.

I have yet to make anything tasty with these at the end of the season. Always comes out bland or gritty! May try soup this year.

It’s that time of the year where I pretend to be Martha Stewart. I get these gourds from the grocery store and place them randomly around the house as decor. November poinsettias are added. Interior decorating at its finest.
A small oblong pumpkin and roundish green specked gourd sitting on a granite counter. A long teardrop shaped gourd, pale yellow with orange stripes. A green and orange gourd, kinda shaped like a UFO. Both sitting on a wood table.

Yea 😬 a house I like just dropped 2 limited release perfumes. FOMO while fighting off buying under the influence of feels. My will is not that strong.

I’m fighting the urge to stress buy but man. I knew I needed to step away from the phone when I spent an hour searching for body butters that smell like Lush Golden Pear body wash. Almost hit purchase but my inner voice reminded me it’s time to find a therapist in my new city.

#SOTD was Freedom by Efori. It’s a summer friendly lemon vanilla fragrance. #SOTN is Self, my fave from the line. Notes in alt-text but this is hard to describe. Opens w/deep fruity chocolate with that bergamot zest, but doesn’t feel gourmand. Dry down is rich and creamy, slightly soapy. Obsessed.
Short round perfume bottle sitting on a white box laid on its side. Both labeled “Self” by Efori. A slice of papaya with seeds is propped up on the side of the box.

From the website, Scent Journey:

Top: Bergamot, Papaya
Heart: Orchid, Plum, Chocolate
Base: Sandalwood, Vetiver

Was listening to Pandora at work, random station. Can’t Believe It by T-Pain comes on. That Lil Wayne verse is egregious. Who approved that nonsense?
