Rant: graduated law school working 2 jobs, on food stamps, 2 weeks from eviction. Bar exam where, how?! Took the first JD preferred job offered. Never barred but for 10yrs I was the “compliance” lady counsel had on speed dial and party rep attys offered bar prep+job to after my investigations closed

more should follow. the bar exam is a money grab and doesn't have ish to do with the practice of law. imagine sitting in school for three years and not being able to practice because of a timed two-day test covering areas you'll never use.

Life was the wild Wild West for white male folks career advancements UNTIL. I worked reviewing resumes of CEOs at one point. It was almost hilarious how under credentialed they were. I’m not saying they didn’t work up there - many did - but the “requirements” for the positions. Hearty Laugh.

Same, and when I was a summer associate, a fellow SA from NYU law told me that she had "never heard of anyone who got a score so low" when I told her mine (don't shoot me! she asked!) - she also said he didn't know anyone else who had not taken a prep course.

the first case i helped work up was a baby with an STD. i was like ooooh everybody can go to jail. i am against the death penalty, but working there is why i will never be a prison abolitionist. i am also pro personal vengeance. so... my moral compass ain't one to follow. lol.
