….Bianchi got me again. Revisited my samples this weekend. The Black Knight is gorgeous. And I don’t even like leather as a note. Used the last of the sample for a full wear at work today. Bottle is on the way 😩 more sultry suede than leather, hint of sweet rose and patchouli.

Weekend scents: Rooted and Flourish are seasonal scents. Experimental compared to the main collection. The fig in Flourish is green, the scent is in the realm of Olympic Orchids. Rooted sounds sweet, but is actually deep and smoky. Layered both w/Peace for the earthy apple and sandalwood #perfumesky

After a decade long relationship w/Sephora, I’ve learned you need to log on first thing in the morning on the first day of the semi-annual sales to get the good point redemptions. This year was probably my best. I saw tea cup, added w/o much thought. Also for the silk pillow sleep set.

#SOTD is another successful layering experiment. These are my faves from these two brands and they are delightful layered. Velour de Fig extends the heart notes of Self, so the combo stays fruity and dark. #perfumesky

Wore 2 new scents this week that I knew would be loves but decided not to blind buy full bottles. I was correct. Ámbar Dominicano is such a vibe. Smoky, resinous and slightly sweet. It's fun. Velour de Fig is a bolder, deeper relative of Phlur Father Figure. The clove and fig stand out. #perfumesky

This is the first weekend since moving in August that I have no errands, appointments, chores or weekend plans. Breakfast on the patio, spooky season youtube videos, perfume sampling, and Basil Hayden w/a good book. I needed this, because it's about to get hectic around here.

Sticking with Olympic Orchids for the #SOTD. Blackbird was the scent that got me interested in the house, after falling down a Reddit rabbit hole last year. Love the brightness of the blackberry and lack of sweetness. Like eating blackberries on a camping trip on a dry summer day. #perfumesky

My attempt at a cappuccino this morning. Not pretty but did what it needed to do ☕️ I bought ristretto shots for my Nespresso but wasn’t sure what to do with them. A double works well in this.

Probably my favorite candle purchase of the year. Will be perfect once we hit that part of late fall where you begrudgingly turn on the heat, but just enough to make sure the pipes don’t freeze. #scentsky

It’s that time of the year where I pretend to be Martha Stewart. I get these gourds from the grocery store and place them randomly around the house as decor. November poinsettias are added. Interior decorating at its finest.

#SOTD was Freedom by Efori. It’s a summer friendly lemon vanilla fragrance. #SOTN is Self, my fave from the line. Notes in alt-text but this is hard to describe. Opens w/deep fruity chocolate with that bergamot zest, but doesn’t feel gourmand. Dry down is rich and creamy, slightly soapy. Obsessed.

-Maxaroma had a great sale on The Merchant of Venice. I got Rosa Moceniga and Andalusian Soul for a steal. RM is a jammy vintage rose, AS is creamy amber.

I posted about the Harlem Perfume (#blackowned) sample set fiasco. Jury is still out on Eartha (dry, incense rose). I had sampled all the others before, but I ended up getting a fb of Josephine which I had been considering for a minute. Beautiful night blooming jasmine. Date night!
