My gut is telling me Cuba is next. They might not wait long to act. They are on a high. In their celebration, Trump said as much. It sounds like that is Rubio's skin in the game. It seems very much part of the plan

I don't go out ( I am lucky to still work from home) except for groceries. I rarely get take out right now. I mask n95 and try to do it properly, checking the seal. I still manage to find a way to get sick

Two sobering thoughts were brought up in a discussion this morning
1. I believe there was no congressional approval
2. The military went along with his orders

FOX & FRIENDS: What do you see as the future of Venezuela's oil industry?

TRUMP: Well I see that we're gonna be very strongly involved in it. That's all. What can I say. We have the greatest oil companies in the world.

I think people want to do what they want to do and don't want to hear it because they don't want to hear about the risk. So cancer patients go out right now with no protection.

Why can't both be true. Why can't we accept that we may have to take more risk and it may never be what it was before. At the same time let's accept COVID isn't the flu and maybe we should clean the air to mitigate risk when we can against airborne disease.

This is overrated. Perhaps that is why I am a failure. I ran a marathon and it did not change my life (other than my knee was probably not suited to any more marathons)

Everyone is sniffing into the Kleenex but no one apparently has the flu

If you look at the sick count at my office, it is not a good thing right now. I am the pessimist and I did not expect it to go this badly. Stay safe. Get vaxed. You know the precautions we can take. We went through covid

If I got the flu, which it looks like, I got REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY lucky. Just a runny nose. Co-worker - cough. I was vaxed and n95 masked, tried to wear properly. No eating at mandatory work gathering or mask removal

I keep on saying, you may be smart enough to calculate the odds. It maybe low or seem to make no difference. It's all fun and games till you loose the bet and things aren't good. Then you wish maybe you did something even if it wouldn't have made a big difference

Also these positive influenza A cases we see, the test run doesn't tell you what strain you had does it?
December 29, 2025 at 11:25 AM
Correct me if I am wrong, masks when we can would have helped reduce the spread of respiratory illness that is killing hospital ERS right now?

Wouldn't it be simple to do a study of the population's current ALC levels? I think it's in the CBC blood test that you probably get at checkups. I guess you need to give permission for the data to be used. Shouldn't be costly and would end speculation with evidence. Most have had covid

I consider myself lucky in light of recent events. In pre covid and better times I went in with chest pain. After the nurse triaged me I was monitored and I was given the blood test, even though I was really really young. I am at higher risk of aortic diesection but the er was not aware of this

There's no such thing as a serious effort to address the implosion of Canada's healthcare system that doesn't address COVID, and the incompetence of infection control leadership.

They made a very big mistake in 2020, and they'll take the system down with them before they'll admit it.
Many doctors chiming in on how to help fix Canada's ER crisis with no mention of respirator masks or mitigating constant waves of viral illness. It's painful to witness!

I don't know. I was vaxxed for the flu. I knew it would be bad this season. did it before covid. It may be strange. It may present possibly as a leaky nose that shows up again on and off but it sure as hell takes bloody long for the leaky nose to finally go. 2 plus weeks
