I need to trust my instincts when I don't immediately put a fic I really like on my to-podfic list. There's almost certainly things in there that would be difficult to read aloud that you have forgotten about! Stop doing this to yourself!

Watsonian Kink: the characters have the kink within the context of the narrative
Doyleist Kink: the author and readers are kinking on the characters being subjected to certain situations

It makes such a big difference to a story whether it's about characters who have a certain kink or whether it's written for readers who have a certain kink.
I mean both are possible at the same time, too, but they do occur separately, and we still don't have a good shorthand to differentiate.
