While Supe. Wong won’t tell anyone how much ripping out one of SF’s most popular parks will cost, along with other details about his political stunt, he’s choosing to mislead the public rather than engage in thoughtful policymaking.

The reality is that traffic injuries in District 4 in 2022 and 2023—with the weekend-only pilot—were higher than 2024 and 2025. With the park, SF residents now finally have a safe place to walk, bike and play in the Sunset, and the data backs this up.

Now that opponents have lost two lawsuits and two elections, we invite them to accept the will of San Franciscans and work with us to make the most of our coastal park.

This lawsuit attempted to overturn the will of the voters and close one of the city’s most popular parks. Its decision affirms the city’s authority to move forward in making Sunset Dunes a permanent coastal park for future generations.
