Good question.

1) Covering substantive issues is harder than repeating press releases and reading the crime blotter

2) Challenging power and calling out BS makes powerful people angry

3) There is an audience for the old 'litany of tragedy' local news model of gawking at others' misfortune
Again, I ask: Why can't local news elsewhere be this factual and informative instead of fluff stories and "live" shots from the scene where some horrific crime happened more than a day ago?

People in Colorado have no idea how fortunate they are.

Two dumb fouls and now the Mavs have momentum. Warriors trail by 8 in a game we should have won. #dubnation

#perspective on data and its 'permanence' 👀
Wave a magnet over iron shavings and they will move. Is the pattern they form permanent for all time? No.

Saving items on computers is closer to moving iron shavings than putting pen to paper. You're trusting magnetic forces. Whether wedding photos or DNA, you need a plan to keep the data around.

I started watching the NBA in the late 90s. Can you imagine someone doing this regularly back then? It would have absolutely boggled my mind. And to be clear, it still does.

Steph has made this kind of action normal.
