In case you’re wondering what’s going on with all these stories… I refer you to yesterday’s drawing of the day:

IT IS A COUP!
Drawing of the day: celebrities protest ICE at the golden globes, Hamas says it will dissolve once the technocrat leadership committee is appointed, and protests in Iran continue despite the mounting death toll

I have an earlier version of Office with a perpetual license and they try to shame you into cloud storage by saying without it you won't get autosave (which is true and shit since autosave was a basic feature before 365) BUT it still does auto backups
If you also are sick of Microsoft office trying to push AI and changing subscription prices you can buy a lifetime license on sale for $99 here

I am not shocked by much that cynical billionaires do, or by the extent of resistance to change that our status quo political leaders show. But look at this. Indescribably bad.

If Europe doesn’t destroy Twitter and salt the earth it’s built on NOW, I will be speechless.

Some Grok users, mostly men, began to demand to see bruising on the bodies of the women, and for blood to be added to the images. Requests to show women tied up and gagged were instantly granted.

This is stunning. Listen to this in Philadelphia.

Thousands singing “Hey-Oh, we won’t be silent while our friends are gunned down.”

Really listen to it.

I can't believe I'm posting this video - but we actually have to have a conversation about the real world implications of America going to war over Greenland.

Let me walk you through it. It doesn't turn out well for us.

As Californians, we should be prepared to receive over a million LGBTQ people moving here, and that is on top of other groups moving here for other reasons, whether it's to get away from racism, to find jobs, etc.

Getting more housing built quickly will be important.

New research confirms what many of us see: there's a large internal migration of LGBTQ people in the US, especially trans people, to friendlier states & cities.
Since 11/2024, 9% of all trans people have moved to another state, 43% have considered moving.

My video on how SF comes together to make human banners. Brad Newsham and Travis Van Brasch do the heavy lifting but lots of volunteers are involved and hundreds of people participate and work together to make a statement.

I was uploading an update to the instagram and it describes the app as “Videos, creators & friends”

Which is so wildly off on what I have enjoyed about the app.
Sharing PHOTOS with friends is the point. I don’t give a shit about video or creators. I still feel like it was best before Zuckerberg

Has anyone seen Jeffries or Schumer at a protest or rally this weekend?

In Minneapolis?
At a #IceOutForGood @indivisible.org rally?

The minimum requirement for democratic leaders right now is to be out in the streets with the people who are under attack.

When NIMBYs say that California is full and their cities can’t accommodate more housing, they are saying that queer people trying to get out of red states are on their own.

I can't describe how bad Minneapolis feels right now. My neighbors are pulling kids out of school. The public schools are offering remote learning until 2/12. We are having conversations in our alleys about how to protect ourselves. It feels like a military occupation with a blockade.
The US Department of Agriculture suspends all federal funding to Minnesota, effective immediately.

This. Instead of being a bully using your hand to hit you and saying “stop hitting yourself” it’s taking your taxes and using them to hire guys who will shoot you, kidnap your neighbors, steal children’s lunch, and say “it’s dangerous because the left is really escalating the rhetoric”
The reactionary centrist logic is simple: if the left does something bad it’s the left’s fault, and if the right does something bad, it’s also the left’s fault for making them do it. It’s a simple formula and once you see it every one of their arguments is the same

I’m begging Democratic leaders to understand that outlining and forcefully articulating their vision for accountability now is an electoral strategy.
"The Democrats’ plan: TBD. There has been a lot of rhetoric, but ... the caucus is largely shying away from using its leverage in the appropriations process and threatening another government shutdown."
