So the biggest announcement from tonight's show for me personally was Ace Combat 8. Huge fan of the series, and two years ago I did a full mainline series play through. Ace Combat 7 is a masterpiece.

Finished Metroid Prime 4 today. My personal game of the year. Easily. This was everything I wanted in a new Prime game. Metroid is my favorite game franchise, and this just keeps that legacy going. It took way too many years to get here after the game was announced, but the wait was worth it.

Put about 1 hour and 15 minutes into Metroid Prime 4 tonight, and it gives an extremely good first impression. This is the year one showpiece of the Switch 2 hardware (ironically developed as a cross gen Switch 1 game). The HDR is the real showpiece. It really makes the lighting pop.

For those worried about too many cutscenes/voiced character dialog in a Metroid game, go back and play Prime 3 (like I just did). It's shocking that every 10 mins you're talking with someone or getting radio calls. Not sure why IGN and other outlets seemed to just forget that?
