If LGBTQ+ folks make you feel uncomfortable, that is absolutely a 'you' problem. It's not up to marginalised folks to hide or change to accommodate your feelings, it's up to you to harden the fuck up and get over yourself.

So, hubs' persistent cough and shortness of breath disappeared in the 2 weeks he stayed with his Mum. Two weeks at home and they're back again. That's not good. But I guess it's a big clue about the cause, which was a mystery to his GP, so a step towards sorting it out.

“Someone” cancelled my family’s flight out of the country at the last second.

We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’

Now this is going to come as a shock but it seems that the Cones Hotline is a complete waste of time and money.
A graph from Newsroom showing Van Veldens Cones Hotline is a waste of money.

Data shows Wellington City Council's cone report outcomes -
Sites found to be in order 54
Closed with no action 35
Out of scope 22
Contractor advised to move cones 5
Council moved cones

Yeah, I just went in there for a few things - they didn't even give me the milk I ordered - and while some stuff was genuinely out of stock, a lot wasn't. Two of their big chillers were out of action for maintenance though, which wouldn't have helped.

I just got a hit of dogamine from giving our two extra high-value chew treats. Which they both demolished in about 5 minutes, but they still lasted longer than their regular chewy treats.
Your husband is adorable with your dog!

Anyone starting to notice the networked affiliations of rightwing #Auspol might find this entertaining. Andrew Hastie’s Aus pals on the international Alliance for Responsible Citizenship Advisory Board are direct or linked #AtlasNetwork. Footnote from latest piece. open.substack.com/pub/lucyham2...
Footnote: Jacinta Nampijinpa Price is linked to the Atlas partner the Centre for Independent Studies (CIS). Tony Abbott is a "distinguished fellow" at the Atlas partner Institute of Public Affairs (IPA) and has been contracted by the Atlas-linked Viktor Orbán thinktank, the Danube Institute. John Howard was revealed to be an MPS member (2010) the last two times the list was leaked. John Anderson launched and is chair of the National Party's linked thinktank, the Page Research Centre (PRC), which co-brands events with Atlas partners. He is a NatCon influencer. Amanda Stoker has been a "distinguished fellow" at the Atlas partner the Menzies Research Centre (MRC), and a "director" at the Atlas partner the Australian Institute for Progress (AiP).

Rupert Murdoch has funded the thinktank that his father co-founded, the IPA, financially and with in-kind support. He was also on the Atlas partner Cato Institute board in the 1990s.

Note big money's Advance, interconnected with Atlas, working to break support for the Voice to Parliament. Australia's mega rich are fomenting civil war
Pouring gasoline on the fires of bigotry is more dangerous in the USA where guns are ubiquitous. It is still deadly dangerous in Australia.

The rise of authoritarians around the world is fuelled by the fomenting of civil war. The ultra rich use their messaging operations to create the fantasy that the billionaires and the masses are allied against a supposedly dangerous "enemy within".

I remember when a protester punched the co-leader of the Greens in the face.

Hana Maipi-Clarke had her home broken into by a political stalker.

I recall VFF protesting outside Clarke's parents' home while Jacinda was on holiday.

I dont remember hearing about National's concerns back then??

Winston Peters strolled around and anti-vax picnic and spoke with people who had chanted and written threats of hanging on gallows of Jacinda Ardern, Dr Ashley Bloomfield and so on, but this was all OK as it was just harmless opportunistic politicking #NZPol

This is strike action the like of which we haven’t seen for over 100 years. It’s shaping up to be bigger than the Great Strike.

Good on all of us for taking this action ✊🏼✌🏼🤘🏼

Presumably that would be the company who supplied the new SIM when we changed providers...who was absorbed by another company a few months later. I think this might get messy.

One of the more incredible stories out of LA this year has been how a taco review blog became the best on-the-ground coverage of ICE raids in the city.

They do a dispatch every day, follow-up on the kidnapped people (which almost no media outlet has done), and fact-check government claims.

Seriously. Airports are one giant petri dish. Do not go swimming in the petri dish.

11) I know I'm in the rare minority that's still masking because I take things like Covid seriously, but even outside of a pandemic, I have no idea what kind of person would willingly go through an airport unmasked.

It's... you're crammed in with thousands of people, from everywhere. Breathing.

I have a literal pin thingy for ejecting the SIM, but not a pin number for locking it.
supergoofnz.bsky.social
Hmmm I've got the the box and everything that came with the phone around here somewhere, but I think we had to change SIMs when we changed providers a couple of years ago, that might be more difficult to track down. I certainly don't remember seeing anything obvious in the box.

To be honest, I don't like him when he's not angry, either.
supergoofnz.bsky.social
AAAHHHHH I just tried to do that, but it wants a PIN (which I have not yet set) before I can turn on sim card lock! I did turn on biometric security on my authenticator app though, and my phone locks itself when not in use.
