Abstract: In her talk, Verena Erlenbusch-Anderson explores the racialization of terrorism in the United States in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries through changing discursive formations of race. She illuminates its function as a tool of social exclusion in the service of white supremacy and examines the continued relevance of contestations of terrorism as a means to preserve white rule and a practice of resistance against white supremacy.
