I’m resting while the clouds chase each other across a full moon sky, basking in the shaded moonlight and listening to the crickets and the stream. This is my 10 minutes of peace. A rarity in a time when the political hurricane of idiocy continues to attack our democracy.

There are tuberculosis outbreaks in Michigan & Kansas, bird flu has appeared in several people without any clear poultry exposure, and my emergency department it has an enormous surge in covid and flu A patients.

We are hearing from CDC sources that the communication pause has been indefinitely extended.
Communication is KEY to public health. In addition to not being able to share information with the public, there is no communication with state and local officials, who are vital public health partners.

My trans daughter went 4 years with no bullying. Since January 21st, bullying/outing has happened EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Today I got a call from the Title IX coordinator for the school. I don't know what happened but there was sexual harassment severe enough to get the state involved.
