If I were the Senate Democratic leader tweeting about the president acting illegally, I'd probably be explaining why I'm agreeing to quickly confirm nominees so I can take the weekend off instead of using the process to exert some leverage

It's not that rhetoric isn't useful. It's that not only is there an absence of a plan to combat what we're seeing, but on top of that, the rhetoric from many Democratic lawmakers feels detached. The messaging is ludicrously subdued. Unhelpfully formal. There is a massive failure in reading the room.
