1/ Sometime in the next few months I expect we'll be bombarded with op-eds along the lines of, 'My Friendship With Jeffrey Epstein Was a Mistake--But Do I Really Deserve To Be Canceled For It?'

And the response should be, 'Yes, motherfucker, you do.'

I think sometimes folks on the left forget that the most successful progressive leader in American history was a Baptist minister who used Christian faith to argue for racial and economic justice.

Don’t buy into right wing framing that they have a lock on faith.

They think that art is simply propaganda. And that's why they suck at creating it.
The decline of right wing cultural production is just due to the fact that they don’t like culture, they like the signifiers of culture, ie “classic sculpture means white people are better.” They don’t like art at all except for this purpose. They don’t even like the nerd stuff they whine about

Hard, hard, hard disagree with this.

We atheists/agnostics are a teensy, tiny minority. Appealing only to us will result in our preferred party suffering a 90-10 defeat.

I'd much rather have progressive evangelicals out there so the ground isn't ceded solely to the assholes.
So, I see Andy Beshear has a book out offering himself up as the latest Bible-thumping Dem (see James Talarico.) Folks, if you think competing for evangelicals is the Dem path to victory...no. If you think we need more religion in US politics...no. Religion in politics is a problem not a solution.

Manchin sucked but I was always willing to cut him some slack because he lived in a deep red state.

Fetterman is more like Sinema: Just a shameless, selfish opportunist. I will not be shocked to see him become an AI data center lobbyist after his Senate career mercifully ends after 2028.
February 18, 2026 at 2:48 PM
I couldn't vote for Fetterman again. Otherwise I agree.
I find it really incredible that the concept of “vote blue no matter who” is so hard for some to grasp. It doesn’t mean “all Democrats are good.” It means “vote for the Democrat against the Republican.”

In their November races, Fetterman, Masto, Platner, Booker, Newsom are the correct choices
No, let’s say the quiet part out loud:

Vote Blue, No Matter Who itself has been a failure of a test. Very clearly, we need to better evaluate politicians we’re supporting blindly.

John Fetterman, Graham Platner & his tattoo, Catherine Cortez Masto, Corey Booker, GAVIN NEWSOM?!?

Think! Critically!

The judge who signed this warrant still ought to be ashamed. Everyone knows not to trust these pig fuckers .
A very detailed explanation of how FBI bamboozled a magistrate into authorizing a raid on Fulton County’s election offices by omitting critical information that would have totally undermined any probable cause claim. Pretty clear-cut case of calculated deception of the courts.
Fulton Co elections expert: “In all 5 areas identified by ... the [search warrant] affidavit, there are a multitude of false or misleading statements or omissions. ... Once ... corrected, the affidavit loses any basis in reality.”

As someone who was raised Christian, I'm so pissed these assholes are claiming Jesus in the name of of white supremacy. That shit has nothing to do with the New Testament.

The promoted content on X The Everything App right now is:

1. AOC is a bimbo who lacks the deep geopolitical knowledge to lead the free world, unlike our current highly knowledgeable president Donald Trump.

2. Jeffrey Epstein did nothing wrong.

Vote accordingly.

The horror stories rolling in from Minnesota are just the tip of the iceberg. This 20-year-old, who's lawfully present in the country, was arrested for being Latino, then jailed in a filthy cell where he couldn't even sit down. 18 days of illegal detention. democracyforward.org/wp-content/u...

One long-lasting and, frankly, sad legacy of the Epstein saga is whenever there's a public figure whose work I admire, I have a thought in the back of my head: 'Yeah but how long until I learn they were taking flights to Pedo Island?'

The fact that the GOP has been trying to censor Talarico interviews while boosting the campaign of Crocket shows you who they think is an actual threat to win.
Stephen Colbert said that the FCC and CBS - which is in no way a compromised or complicit organization - wouldn’t allow him to broadcast an interview with Democratic State Rep James Talarico. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/17/a...

this is why it's so damn important that the Ellisons not be allowed to buy Warner Bros Discovery. if they're willing to do this to CBS and their portfolio of streaming & cable, imagine what they'll do if they're allowed to buy 3x the amount of channels they already have.

Luce can see where the ball is going.

Either the AI Bros succeed in the goals and it generates a mass populist backlash.

Or the AI Bros fail in their goals, which will crash the economy... and generate a mass populist backlash.

Newsom is NOT the guy you want there when it happens.
“History might look back on the Trump years as the moment Silicon Valley’s broligarchs took control of our future. Newsom is uncomfortably close to the tech billionaires. Middle America on the other hand seems to be ripe for AI populism.” Me on the Dem early front runner. as.ft.com/r/60533d91-8...

Adam’s right. It’s more important than ever that our institutions defend First Amendment rights, and that means not firing teachers illegally whether their offense was “Go ICE” or saying something less than hagiographical about Charlie Kirk. Fewer people want to hear that in ugly times.

Am I going to be the only one to suggest that firing a public school teacher for speaking out on a matter of public concern raises profound First Amendment issues, and we should pause before cheering on such actions when that power can be weaponized against progressive teachers in red places? 1/3
This “beloved” Chicago teacher, James Heidorn, believes he was pushed out of his job due to a two-word post on his Facebook account.

Oddly enough, the heavily Hispanic district didn’t appreciate him posting “GO ICE”.

There's going to be a left-wing populist revolt coming no matter what. Why? Either the AI Bros succeed in their question to put everyone out of work while gobbling up all the wealth OR they fail and crash the economy when the AI bubble bursts. But the conditions have never been more ripe.

Bring it. Fail faster.
There’s going to be Covid style shortages of cars, TVs and even washing machines and fridges, then job losses because assembly lines can’t source solid state memory, just so the stupidest person you know can state with 100% confidence a chatbot confirmed dinosaurs coexisted with humans.
I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.
