For #WorldPhotographyDay I'd like to share my favorite image I've taken this year.

#Toronto harbour froze after weeks of negative temps, I decided to do a photo day on the islands in February. A snowstorm started and the cityscape disappeared, but as I ventured out onto the ice, it revealed itself.

Some of my octopus prints for World Octopus Day this October 8! 🧪🐡🐙

First up my lino block print of a charming Grimpoteuthis octopus, one of a genus of pelagic cirrate (finned) octopods known as the dumbo octopuses. The fins reminded scientists of ears of the elephant in Disney’s 1941 film Dumbo.

The octopus is mostly bluish with red at the top and on its ear-like fins. Its tentacles are brown and all spiralling up close to its body. The dark water around it is blue-black.

you know about that app, Plan-It I think its called, that lets you determine moon phase/direction/setting/rising time to plan out which direction you'll be photographing? I used it a bunch for finding when the milky way could be visible when I was up camping

I got tickets for the Tron IMAX double feature tomorrow specifically for the Daft Punk and NiN soundtracks in 12-channel sound while my eyes are overloaded with 3D to the point i gloss over the plot silliness

One of my favorite fun facts is why the TMNT are named after artists (it’s because the type of turtle they are is a “painted turtle”). I told my nephew about this and he immediately replied that there should be a Bob Ross turtle. So rather than explain the renaissance movement to him, I-
