Here's a cool podcast about my time as a photographer with WWF/WWE in the 1980's and 1990's. I shot the interview as a two hour talk, which will be split into 2 segments. It’s a fun chat for anybody interested in how WWF magic was made 'back in the day'. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qbz...

I gotta keep my unredacted copy of the U.S. Constitution safe so it doesn't end up in the Memory Hole.

Imagine this: On the evening of March 8, you and your spouse unlock the door to your apartment building. As you step inside, two men—not in uniform—push their way in behind you. They tell you your visa has been revoked and that they are there to deport you.

Here’s a feel-good story about a tiny community owned ski area, and its goliath sized corporate neighbors.

I enjoyed “A Complete Unknown,” the feature film about the early years of Bob Dylan, staring Timothée Chalamet. It’s an intensely intimate and mostly warm film, until the final segment at the Newport Folk Festival when it goes a bit overboard. Nevertheless, it’s worth watching on the big screen.

Labor unrest has been rumbling through the ski industry, and is now front and center at the Park City resort in Utah, where hundreds of Ski Patrollers are on strike.

I stand firmly with the Ski Patrollers.

A strike by the ski patrol at Park City Resort, North America’s largest ski area by acreage, has shut a majority of the Utah ski area for more than a week at the resort’s busiest time of the year.

Here's a wonderful Instagram video covering the first year of an avalanche dogs training. It looks so fun, but it's also super serious work for both the dog and the Ski Patrol. I hope their employer recognizes the value of a professional Patrol team!

Here’s a wonderfully short 1940’s recording by Woody Guthrie about the life and death of Jesus Christ, which is perfectly attuned to America in contemporary times, and worth considering as we celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah and many other seasonal holidays.

There are so many of these memes popping up. Trump's gotta hate it when they slip through the algorithm and land in his Twitter or Truth Social feed.

It’s holiday season and the year is winding down. That makes it a perfect time for a bit of Vulfpeck, which I’ve been enjoying for a while. So, for all the little children, and all the big children, here’s Christmas in LA. (time code 1h17m30s).

Interesting number sequence on last nights MegaMillions, but alas, it didn't match my picks so I guess I have to go to work, again.

The news has been saturated with stories about the killing of a health insurance executive by Luigi Mangione, but scarcely a mention of the ascendancy of Trump’s Billionaire Cabinet. Crazy times call for biting sarcasm, and thus I‘m pleased to share this on-point cartoon.

I just checked results of Vermont’s Presidential election. There were 3,000+ write in votes including Nikki Haley, Mitt Romney, and Mike Pence, plus lots of odd choices such as Willie Nelson, Snoop Dog, Vermin Supreme, Dwayne Johnson, John Cena, and even “Free Palastine” (yup, it was misspelled).

No matter how you slice it, Syria is a mess. Thomas Friedman had a fine summary in his Dec 8 column:

"Best Russian aphorism to sum up the challenge that regional and global powers now face in fixing Syria: “It is easier to turn an aquarium into fish soup, then to turn fish soup into an aquarium.”

I found this image in my phone’s “Pictures” file. I didn’t take it, and I have no idea where it came from or how it got on my phone, but I love it either as humor or horror. And oh yeah, a quick Google search shows it’s been around since early 2014.

I always wondered what the “expert skier” looked like, and finally found the answer in the 1963 Sears Catalog. Today was the opening day of Okemo, and my first day riding for the season. It was good fun, but if there were any expert skiers on the mountain they sure didn’t look like this!

I watched a bit of the live feed of WWE setting up for Survivor Series. It looked like Canadian locals were rigged for safety, but the traveling WWE ground crew lacked any PPE at all. I know it’s annoying, but come on gang, build that “safety culture” and live for another day.

I started organizing my calendars and noticed that in 2025 the MLK holiday is celebrated on January 20th, which is also the inauguration of Donald Trump. I imagine Dr. King will be rolling in his grave. I think I’ll celebrate the life and times of Dr. King on January 15th, his actual birthday.

Here's a NYT story about Linda McMahon, and her nomination to the Department of Education. It's a good profile, and should interest my WWF friends. Linda is not at all qualified to run the DOE, but she's one of the more sane nominees for a Trump cabinet position.

Dang, Tiny Desk has been on a tear lately. I usually batch-watch their shows and generally skip through a few of the offerings, but the last set was a 100% attention grabber. Start with Durand Jones on Nov 15, and roll through Teedra Moses on Nov 25.
