If we're being honest, US has been been bullying and lording over allies for many years. While EU has been a relative equal, we've snuffed out others who attempted to build strong democracy and economic development. "Keep them poor and beholden" has been a US mantra in the developing world.

I've been calling for a Labor Party in the USA for at least 20 years. Young people, Progressives, retirees and Organized Labor would easily add up to a plurality at the polls.
