Formerly of Flip the Table and Mall Night Long. Designer of Roll Estate, a print and play dice game. McDonald’s enthusiast.
We played their other one, Dragon Bowl, 2 years ago, and while the game was, like, okay, the overall experience was a blast.

This one seems a little more interesting mechanically.

BTG is a great show! Can’t wait to listen.

Deal making and prize splitting did still occur, but I think the “gotta play to win” rule significantly abated it. VTES players did 5 MPH over the limit with it, whereas I don’t think I’ve ever seen a local Magic group actually play the final table.

(In addition to being an ironic signal that “I’m going through the motions but my game is over”, this is also used as a tongue in cheek apology when someone makes a move that absolutely torpedoes someone else. “Welp, gotta play to win… (nukes you)”

It is WILD. I fully expected performance similar to past years’ RiffTrax campaigns, and yet, this thing is exploding well beyond that.

Granite Game Summit is my next opportunity; I think the thing that holds me back is the hours I spend at the flea market (plus prep, plus putting away unsold product) are hours I’m NOT playing games, and that time is at a real premium the rest of the year. I’m definitely not as active as I was.
February 3, 2026 at 3:17 AM
Interesting; definitely different than it was when I was attending!

Yeah, most of these games are games I like to some degree; I want to feel like they actually live with a farm family upstate with plenty of room to run around outside.

Every host segment, just regular ass apartment drama with neighbors Pearl, Bobo, and Brain Guy. A whole subplot about cleaning the lint out of the shared basement dryer.

I genuinely hope those four episodes just take place in that apartment, with Pearl dropping by with a movie now and then.

…less expensive tiers, and handing the reigns to the RiffTrax guys, who have run like 20 Kickstarters and never missed a deadline feels like a way to shake off the bad taste the most recent campaign left for people. (And I still haven’t forgotten the weird “pledge drive” year on Netflix.)
February 2, 2026 at 7:25 PM
I think this choice is intentional. Not just from a people/performers perspective, but from a strategic one.

Last go-around gave some weird vibes with expensive tiers for what felt like less effort. This one feels like a real pitching change with the “we’ll use whatever budget we get” approach.

No gripes here, I liked the Netflix seasons quite a bit. Great casting, great writing, and one of the better renditions of the opening sequence.
February 2, 2026 at 7:06 PM
Yeah, I hope they both get a chance to return at some point. Emily in particular, since we didn’t get a whole ton of movies with her and she’s very, very good.

The era of the classic series I feel most connected to is this one, so I am beyond excited!
February 2, 2026 at 6:43 PM
Yeah; were I selling online I would price them to move, maybe $5 or $10, but them the cost of shipping would exceed the price; which reads as scuzzy even if it’s a fair cost.

I hadn’t considered Noble Knight as an option!
February 2, 2026 at 4:09 AM
I have actually considered bringing them to a local game meetup and just marking them “free to a good home.”
February 2, 2026 at 4:05 AM
Have you seen my collection? I’ve lost enough friends over the years!
