I actually got written up at my job bc of this. I refused to do it. They’ve backed off a little about it in recent years surprisingly.

I am so glad he is there w/people who can give him somewhere cleaner/warmer/safer for the best chance to pull through. Their compassion & willingness to take this on means so much to us. We love that little boy so much & want what’s best for him & sometimes that isn’t us. Thanks for the kindness. XO

We still don’t know if he’ll make it bc they don’t know what the infection is or what is causing this, but I know he’s in good hands & is somewhere warm w/people who can give him more attentive care than we could. I haven’t stopped crying for hours. Pls be ok, B Dalton. We love you so much. 6/6

It breaks my heart to tell them we didn’t have the $, a warm space where the other cats couldn’t get to, or time to spend sitting with him with a feeding tube w/our current obligations/cats/work/etc. He deserves a warm space where someone can be more attentive to him, not in a dirty cold closet. 5/6

He’s going on 3 days without eating or drinking. He’s only peed what fluids they gave him via IV. Today we went back & his fever is 104°. We ended up signing him over to the vet who OFFERED TO PAY FOR HIS CARE & CARE FOR HIM. Which is UNREAL levels of care for animals. 4/6

He doesn’t have FIV, FeLV, or FP (like distemper for cats, highly contagious & can be spread by people). But he had SOME sort of infection & was dehydrated & throwing up foul smelling bile. We got him fluids & antibiotics. Hoping this AM he’d show signs of improvement. He didn’t. 3/6

Sat night we didn’t sleep & stayed on the couch to be closer to the basement bc we were worried. By Sunday AM we knew he needed an ER vet. We found one & 500$ later we found out he had a 106° fever & NO white blood cells. Like NONE. 2/6
