New in #JNeurosci from Adjei et al: Male mice acquire aggressive behaviors after watching peers—not strangers—attack intruders, and this may be mediated by excitatory neurons in a region of the medial amygdala. https://doi.org/10.1523/JNEUROSCI.1018-25.2025

This is awesome Jerome! Very very happy you got this!

I still can't believe that my ERC starting grant proposal, #BeeSpace got accepted by the @erc.europa.eu. For the next 5 years, we have funding to study place coding in the insect 🐝 brain. Exciting times are ahead. Without the great support of my former PIs this wouldn't have been possible.

We are very proud of our researchers Beatrice Baragli, Jerome Beetz, Jacqueline Degen, Mona Garvert, Jake Greenfield, and Jens Hör: They have been awarded prestigious ERC Starting Grants worth €1.5 million. Congratulations! @erc.europa.eu #ERCStG

I'm not much online these days (post Twitter era is not the same) but I'd like to announce that I have moved out of Frankfurt to the FU Berlin as full prof on animal behavior. I won't lie. It's sad to leave Frankfurt but I am hyped to be now part of the vibrant Berlin community!
