Um, ICE just coldly shot an unarmed PRIEST in the head w a pepper ball when he (and everyone around him) clearly posed no threat.

For the crime of … complaining about government policy.

Core 1A speech.

With cameras rolling, they’re sniping priests for sport.

It's one thing to be politically divided into red states and blue states. We are now being militarily divided into red states and blue states. It's crossing the Rubicon, a bright-red flashing warning that the constitutional order is coming unglued, in a way that will have monumental consequences. /x

Aside from shattering core state sovereignty, it's saying one state's Guard (TX) is somehow more loyal to the national authority than another's (IL). It's treating the latter as something bordering on hostile, or at least alien. One part of the country and its soldiers are more America than another.

trashing hotel rooms was a really privileged, bougie, dinosaur rock kind of thing to do. you know what real punks do? get a good night's sleep, leave a clean room and tip the housekeeping staff. and hand in their keys 30 minutes before checkout time.

I cannot emphasize enough that this administration shouldn’t get 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘷𝘰𝘵𝘦 from the Dems until they start obeying the law.

Not. One.

Optics matter: if you want people to turn out next election despite troops in the streets, then show them it matters.

Do your goddamn jobs and hold the line.

This is a VERY well crafted lawsuit.
1) Plaintiff is natural born.
2) He was detained 2X in a fast-growing part of Alabama, not in a city that Brett Kavanaugh could be easily duped into believing was all migrants.
3) Unwarranted detentions were on private property.
4) He showed Real ID both times.

JUST IN: A U.S. citizen from Alabama who has been detained twice by ICE while working at a construction site, has filed a class action suit claiming ICE's broad warrantless arrest powers violate the constitution. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

What can you say @schumer.senate.gov?

I RESIGN! Not a single $ to any Dem while you are in a leadership role.

Is there anything I can say to convince you to donate $20 (becomes $80!) to help take back the Senate majority?

Justified reasons to remove a commanding officer:

if i were a would-be dictator whose only civilian check on power had been consumed by total-complete partisan loyalty, something i would definitely do is call an unprecedented in-person meeting of the only people who could stop me and then proceed to illustrate why they should stop me

Reasons a subordinate officer (like the joint chiefs of staff) can remove a commanding officer (like the commander in chief)

I’ll just leave this here.
10:43
Examples of Reasons for
Relief
• A commanding officer orders war crimes or commits gross negligence that endangers national security.
• A commanding officer demonstrates severe incompetence, mental unfitness, or inappropriate personal conduct.

People of Illinois, we need your help.

Get your cell phones out – record what you see. Put it on social media. Peacefully ask for badge numbers and identification. Speak up for your neighbors.

We need to let the world know this is happening – and that we won’t stand for it.

The Lady of the Keep was once a disciplined enchantress. Her creative skills were sought after by aspiring mages and local dabblers. She’d once held classes showing how to give final touches to well-crafted incantations. Her wandering mind of late has introduced an element of chaos.

Belts were drawn when the Lord of the Keep died almost three years ago. A few of the hired hands were let go but we managed to keep the main staff, some from families that have been part of the keep for generations. I thank the Old and New for my brother’s family who stood with us.

Traveling west directly to the village by cart took an hour using First Bridge and Second Bridge. Losing First Bridge added another two hours each way as we now have to head east and south through Wood Glen and across Bowman's Bridge to reach the village. Thankfully, a scenic trip.

"The shutdown can certainly be used rhetorically to justify more firings, but they’re just the same firings with a different rationale, one that is no more legal or legitimate than before. Of course, 'legal' and 'legitimate' are loaded words given the rubber-stampers at the Supreme Court."

I just can’t anymore.

NYT: “Well, we factually couldn’t ask ALL legal experts…” (pay no attention to all the times we printed generalizations as facts over the last decade)

In any other country, if federal agents fired upon journalists when unprovoked — what would we call it?

If federal agents marched down streets demanding papers — what would we say?

Authoritarianism — let’s not pretend it’s something else when it happens in our American cities.

Republicans are throwing 15 million people off of their health insurance and raising premiums by as much as 75% for people who get care from the ACA.

Is that making America healthy again?

CEO pay is up 1,094% since 1978, while worker pay is up just 26%.

Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?
