we have to leave harry potter behind. i know that fandom has historically tried to divorce the work from the author if the author sucks but this has become so egregious that i think hp needs to become basically radioactive to transformative fandom

Traditional publishing is exploiting fandom and fans. Using them to promote and pay for the art they’ve already read for free. Setting fanfic writer up for possible lawsuits and forever binding them and their the work to a bigot. #Romancelandia

I read the books in college and I kind of went along with the fandom because I was into Harry/Snape fanfic but I feel okay with myself because I was into the kind of squicky Harry/Snape fanfic that would have made JKR blush. I can't enjoy the world now because of her. Way better magic school books.

I don't know how adults stand the embarrassment of having "liking Harry Potter" as a core personality trait. Grow up. Get a goddamn life. Get a FETISH. Take up hard drugs. Good God, have a little self-respect.
