If you ever find yourself zip tying a child's hands I wanna be really clear with you on what this says about you. You're not one of the "good guys." You're the problem. Your soul is rotten. Your intentions are evil. And whoever is above you telling you to do this is the pure embodiment of evil.

That's an amazing statement. Thank you!

Of course the far right wrecks their country. When you care only for yourself, you're not going to make decisions in the best interests of the country. And the far right is completely selfish and self-centered, by definition.

People who are alive and healthy now will die early because of RFK Jr. And most Americans have no idea. I think people who've never been in a relationship with a narcissist, or don't know they're in one, cannot comprehend it when someone you're supposed to trust is actively harming you.

That sounds delicious! I might try that with some relatively healthy hot dogs I recently bought.
what are sports peppers?
and I'd have to buy the celery salt.

Looks like federal workers won’t get back pay and I’m sure those who support felonious orangina are going to be thrilled about how trump really cares about people. #TrumpShutdown #NoBackPayForFederalWorkers

I just looked it up and it sounds similar to the pizza I grew up with here in the MD suburbs of DC. Ledo's (which is a bigger chain now), is made in a rectangular baking pan, cut in squares and has a thin crust that's flaky& crackly. It's my favorite of the chain store pizzas.

I no longer live anywhere close to Chicago (I lived in St Louis when I drove to Chicago so often). But i would love to come back and try pub style pizza even though I have no idea what that is. And I heard @jillwine-banks.bsky.social talking about Chicago hot dogs so I want to try those also!

I refuse to let hopelessness prevail. This may just be one essay, by a lawyer few have heard of, in a newsletter read by a fraction of the public. But I will not stay silent.

Will you?

Turns out, police didn't conduct the nationwide search for this woman until WEEKS AFTER she had an abortion.

Her abusive partner was threatening her AT GUNPOINT for having an abortion... but cops wanted to CHARGER HER for having an abortion!
But newly unearthed court documents about the incident show that when the search was performed, police were conducting a “death investigation” into the death of the fetus, and police discussed whether they could charge the woman with a crime with the District Attorney’s office on the same day that they performed the Flock search. The documents, obtained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and shared with 404 Media, also show that the Flock search was performed more than two weeks after the woman had the abortion. The documents were created as part of an arrest affidavit against the woman’s partner, who was arrested for allegedly abusing and threatening her at gunpoint on the day she took the abortion pill.

I grew up going to Zabar's. So many of my childhood memories center around the best lox in NYC (which is saying something). With Saul Zabar's passing today, the Upper West Side has lost a legend who turned his parent's humble store into a culinary institution.

This has nothing to do with crime. This is an attempt to crush political dissent.

Never before, in our entire 250 year history, has the military or immigration agents been used like this. It's dystopian, illegal, and it should stop.

SCOOP: Top GOP mapmaker Adam Kincaid testified for the first time about his role in Texas' gerrymandered congressional map, revealing that the RNC hired him to draw it. During his testimony, the state repeatedly shielded him from disclosing details about how the map was created.

I bet they could use the Nat'l Guard -- to actually help people and help rebuild.
And I would bet that the National Guard soldiers would far prefer to help people than to rake parks, pick up garbage, and upset a city's residents.

This is Adelita Grijalva.

She was elected to Congress two weeks ago, officially making her the final vote needed to force the release of the Epstein files.

She has still not been sworn in because Mike Johnson refuses to do so.

Chicago is a great city. I used to go every month to visit friends and I found it to be like NYC in terms of the energy and having so many things to do. But it was more manageable than NYC and Chicagoans were mostly friendly and helpful.
