I must confess, these upcoming Dutch elections on October 29th have me worried, especially after the neo-Nazi riot in The Hague two weeks ago.

There’s so many issues in the Netherlands right now, and none of the right wing parties will solve them, and yet the voters still want right wing parties.

I feel like in so many other Gundam shows, the (teenage) protagonist piloting mobile suits and injuring and killing people is generally somewhat glossed over by their peers, but I feel like Shahkti feels very realistically horrified, which helps sell the horrors to the viewer.

So I've started watching Victory Gundam, 4 episodes in, and I really like it so far, one element in particular.

The utter horror of Shahkti at seeing Uso pilot a mobile suit and kill people, which she seemingly feels from afar. She feels very intentionally like Lalah-esque newtype, to great effect.
