I'm just going to say it. The worst thing about antiblackness in the health care industry (and I hate that it IS an industry in the US) is that some medical practitioners aren't even aware they are engaging in it. The best thing I ever did for myself was get a black female OBGYN.

Racism in the workplace sucks. Racism in social settings suck. Racism in a doctor's office can KILL ME. I cannot afford not to be wary. I cannot afford taking chances.

As if I choose when life events will include political components of my identity. I can't ensure that me walking through a public space won't become a "political topic." Half of the people I know are "political topics." I am political.

Fascism isn’t new to the US. It’s always been here. It’s built into this country‘s DNA. Bigotry is our primary export. We just quantified and qualified it under the false title of ”freedom” because that’s what the masses here want & what (yht) ppl with guns & bibles as their personality like to hear
No kidding. I remember when our local government wanted record stores to track names of everyone buying metal records. (Maybe rap too and I’ve just forgotten?)
(Why do I remember this? A good friend of mine owned a record store, and as a new librarian I had some strong opinions, and ideas.)
