In one shocking case, a pair of fraudsters in Chicago and Melrose Park were named in complaints with the Illinois Attorney General alleging they defrauded clients of more than $100,000 between 2022-23 alone. @ilattygeneral.bsky.social didn’t answer our questions about the status of those complaints.

I’m very proud of this collaboration—it’s yet another way Chicagoans came together and organized to defend our city.
Several Chicago newsrooms spent two months collecting and analyzing evidence of ICE & Border Patrol's use of tear gas and pepper spray in Chicago.

They found that agents deployed chemical agents nearly 50 times. Most uses occurred after a judge ordered federal agents to restrict their use.
